Việt NamViệt Nam08/11/2024

The number of people employed in the business sector increased by 5.7% over the same period last year.

According to the General Statistics Office, the reason is due to   industry   strong development and many economic sectors have grown quite well in the past 10 months.

Specifically, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the past 10 months increased by 8.5% compared to the same period last year. Orders from many businesses have continuously increased. These factors have caused the demand for labor to increase dramatically, especially in sectors such as textiles, footwear and leather.

In addition, the increased demand for labor is also due to foreign direct investment in Vietnam in the past 10 months increasing by 8.8% compared to the same period last year.

More than 200,000 newly registered businesses returned to operation, up 9% over the same period.

Ms. Do Thi Ngoc - Deputy General Director of the General Statistics Office said: "With the positive trend of the two months and with the assessment of the production and business trend that we have assessed from the third and fourth quarters, businesses also assessed that the growth of orders is quite high. Thus, the number of workers and the number of jobs created for the economy will continue to be good and create room for next year".
