Ubisoft wants to strengthen Assassin's Creed development team

According to VGC , Ubisoft says it is planning to significantly increase the number of developers working on the Assassin's Creed franchise over the next few years.

Specifically, the company's CEO Yves Guillemot said: "As part of the process of gradually reallocating our resources, the company now plans to increase the number of talented employees working on the Assassin's Creed brand by 40% in the coming years."

During the earnings call, CFO Frédérick Duguet said that there are currently around 2,000 developers working on Assassin's Creed , part of Ubisoft's total workforce of around 20,000. That number is expected to grow to around 2,800 in the coming years, with the additional workforce being sourced from development on other game franchises.

The next installment in the long-running series will be Assassin's Creed Mirage , scheduled for release during Ubisoft's current fiscal year ending March 2024.

The Assassin's Creed franchise hit a record high for active users in Ubisoft's fiscal year that ended in March. Assassin's Creed Valhalla now has 44% more players than Assassin's Creed Origins and 19% more than Assassin's Creed Odyssey so far in a comparable time frame.
