Coach Okiyama Masahiko wants his players to show their full potential in every match.

If they pass the group stage, the Vietnam U16 women's team will compete in the semi-finals on August 27, also at Manahan Stadium.

Speaking at a press conference before the tournament, coach Okiyama Masahiko shared about the living conditions of the Vietnam U16 women's team in Indonesia. Having been in Indonesia for less than 24 hours, coach Okiyama Masahiko said the weather in Surakarta is cooler than in Hanoi .

As soon as they arrived at the hotel where the team was staying, the Vietnam U16 women's team received a very enthusiastic welcome.

“The food yesterday and today was very good, our players all ate well and rested comfortably. Currently, the whole team is in good health, ready for the tournament,” said coach Okiyama Masahiko.

Regarding the goal of the U16 women's team in the tournament, the Japanese strategist said: "Regarding the goal in the tournament, firstly, we will try to pass the group stage to win a ticket to the semi-finals with the determination to fight our best in each match to aim for the championship.

Through this tournament, I also want to promote players to have international exchange opportunities, accumulate experience in international tournaments and overseas tours, and develop pride and responsibility as a national team player."

Coach Okiyama Masahiko added: “Through practical competition experience, I want to improve the players' individual abilities and the team's strength to prepare for the Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers which will take place next October.”

The 2025 Southeast Asian Women's U16 Football Tournament has 9 participating teams, divided into 3 groups, competing in a round robin to calculate rankings, selecting the top 3 teams and the second-placed team with the best results to enter the semi-finals.

In Group B, Vietnam's U16 women's team is rated higher by experts than Myanmar's U16 women's team and Cambodia's U16 women's team.
