On April 30, exactly 49 days since poet-musician Nguyen Thuy Kha passed away, his family and friends held a book launch to commemorate him.

“In Your Heart” and “Poetry in the Notebook” - both published by the Writers Association Publishing House and Lien Viet Company, contain the remains of poet-musician Thuy Kha, stories never known to the public and paintings depicting his poems, made by 9 artists: Le Thiet Cuong, Binh Nhi, Nguyen Hong Phuong, Phuong Binh, Nguyen Quoc Thang, Chu Hong Tien, Tran Nhat Minh, Pham Tran Quan, Chu Hoach.

“In Your Heart” is a collection of articles and articles about poet-musician Thuy Kha. Artist Le Thiet Cuong said that the material used to make the book includes Thuy Kha and his friends, but the focus is not on either side, perhaps it is just in the middle, in the heart. So “In Your Heart” is a possible name.

“The dozens of articles are all memories, reminiscences, and feelings of friends towards their mutual friend, poet Nguyen Thuy Kha. Of course, the image of Nguyen Thuy Kha in the hearts of friends is also the image of friends in Nguyen Thuy Kha’s heart. This book is also a portrait of Nguyen Thuy Kha through the eyes of friends. An interesting portrait because it is multifaceted and colorful because Nguyen Thuy Kha is a sociable person, his friends are of many different ages, many different professions, from Central, South, and North. It is also because Nguyen Thuy Kha has many professions, music, journalism, literature, and friends. Each friend has a perspective, a sharing,” introduced artist Le Thiet Cuong.

Poet-musician Nguyen Thuy Kha wrote many portraits of friends, which were published in a collection called "Thoi ta con ban ban" (Let's Still Have Friends) in 2015. Now, this book is like a couplet, showing his image in the hearts of his friends.

With “Poetry in the Notebook,” artist Le Thiet Cuong said the book’s title was given by journalist Ha Quang Minh – the adopted son of poet-musician Thuy Kha, a collection of poems he wrote in many notebooks.

The literary world knows that poet-musician Nguyen Thuy Kha and painter Le Thiet Cuong are close friends. They knew each other from the “wine mat” of poet Dang Dinh Hung. From the “first cup of wine” to the “last cup of wine” they drank together, 40 years have passed. During the last 10 years of his life, Mr. Kha often went to Mr. Cuong’s Gallery 39 to talk, drink or be silent together. Even when Mr. Cuong was busy with his own work, Mr. Kha still went and sat alone.

“At those times, Kha conveniently took my notebook and wrote poems in it. There were times when he wrote up to three poems. So, between my work notes and sketches, there were Kha’s poems,” said artist Le Thiet Cuong.

From the poems in that notebook, artist Le Thiet Cuong and journalist Ha Quang Minh collected other poems of his and printed them into a book.

According to poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, Nguyen Thuy Kha has lived his life to the fullest: as a true soldier, a true poet, a true musician, a true friend. And above all, he has lived his life as a true human being.

“Nothing in this life forced him to live differently from who he was. We find freedom in his way of living and creating art. Therefore, he left his honest feelings and thoughts in poetry, in music and in his behavior with people. He created his own path and unique voice in creation. And that is what he left for this life,” poet Nguyen Quang Thieu expressed./.
