Studying in a happy school is not about studying less, but about studying with joy, creativity, and happiness. Therefore, pursuing the happy school model is inseparable from educational innovation.

At the conference to review one year of implementing happy schools recently held, a representative of the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Ho Chi Minh City said that, up to now, 100% of educational institutions in the city have implemented the construction of happy schools, aiming to improve the quality of teaching and learning, the quality of education of educational institutions, and improve the learning outcomes of students. In particular, the set of criteria for building happy schools has 18 criteria, divided into 3 groups of standards on people, on teaching and educational activities, and on the educational environment.

A good way shared by Ms. Le Tra Mi - Vice Principal of Tan Phu Primary, Secondary and High School (Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City) is that the school has established many committees with different tasks to build a happy school. That is the environment, health and safety committee which plays an important role in creating a safe and healthy learning and working environment for students. The child protection committee is ready to receive and promptly handle all information related to child protection rights and behaviors that can harm students. The 5S committee (ready, caring, screening, arranging, clean) helps create a clean, tidy and effective learning and working space and the food safety committee. At the same time, the school also organizes activities to educate students on ethics and lifestyle, developing a loving learning environment with teachers teaching in a positive way, with psychologists always listening to students.

It has been noted that many other schools across the country have been actively building happy schools so that students, teachers, and every staff member in the school can enjoy joy every day. At Phan Huy Chu High School (Dong Da District, Hanoi), every year, they organize two surveys of students' opinions on lifestyle, behavior, ethics, teaching methods, and work attitudes of teachers, including members of the Board of Directors. Not only reminding each other to do their best in each lesson, to keep their words and behavior, each teacher of the school always cares and understands each student. Many teachers have even meticulously recorded the family background, strengths, and weaknesses of each student in a separate notebook to have appropriate measures of behavior for each student, and to coordinate closely with the family to promptly resolve incidents that arise. The feeling of being respected, understood and cared for is what every student of this school feels, so they always consider this their second home.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc assessed that the construction and implementation of the happy school model has created positive changes, not only in the awareness of staff and teachers but also strongly spreading to students and parents.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet - former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education pointed out that an ideal educational environment is one where teachers, students and parents all feel happy in the teaching and learning process, ensuring three criteria: "Safety - Love - Respect". In particular, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet emphasized that students' happiness does not have to be sought far away, it is built from the hands of the school's teaching staff. Teachers need to have knowledge and experience in dealing with students, building a friendly teaching environment, not too far away from students.

Along with the innovation of the curriculum and textbooks, building a favorable and exemplary learning environment without violence and too much pressure on achievements is an important contribution to realizing the motto "Learning to become a human being" of the education sector.
