Ho Chi Minh City University of Science grants full scholarship to Le Kien Thanh

Le Kien Thanh is a student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai province (Quy Nhon city, former Binh Dinh province), who has just won a gold medal at the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).

Full scholarship worth nearly 300 million VND

According to news from the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Le Kien Thanh registered his first choice for the advanced program (APCS), the school's information technology department and was awarded a full scholarship worth nearly 300 million VND.

Previously, Le Kien Thanh also made his mark with a silver medal at the Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2025, hosted by Uzbekistan on May 17 and 18.

Le Kien Thanh is a familiar name among IT students. Since grade 10, Thanh won first prize in the provincial IT competition (for 12th graders) and won second prize in the national IT competition in 2023.

In the same year, Thanh was also crowned at Le Quy Don Online Judge Cup 2023 in Da Nang City and won first prize in Group C1 at the National Youth Informatics Competition.

With a series of impressive achievements, Le Kien Thanh has been awarded certificates of merit many times by the Minister of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province (now merged with Gia Lai province).

The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also awarded Le Kien Thanh the Creative Youth badge.

Recently, Le Kien Thanh was one of five outstanding delegates from Binh Dinh province (old) selected to attend the 8th National Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings.

Yesterday (August 8), Le Kien Thanh returned to Quy Nhon to a warm welcome from the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province, teachers of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted and friends.

The gold medal at the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) that Le Kien Thanh brought back from Bolivia is a great joy not only for you, but also for the education sector of the entire Gia Lai province.

Le Kien Thanh is the first student of the province to win a gold medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics.

Thanh said he will pursue computer science and dreams of becoming a good programmer, creating valuable software products, contributing to the development of the country's information technology industry. At the same time, this golden boy of IOI 2025 is also passionate about robots and artificial intelligence (AI).
