On the morning of June 26, Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
Attending the conference were Mr. Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat; Mr. Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Party Central Committee member, Chief of the Central Office; Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission; Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and leaders of departments and branches of Bac Giang province.
At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Nguyen Quang Duong announced the Politburo's decision on the transfer, assignment and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission for the 2021-2026 term, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Afterwards, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Luong Cuong presented the decision and flowers to congratulate Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau.
Speaking at the conference, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong said that Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau has received basic training, has comprehensive capacity, deep expertise, strategic thinking, sharpness, scientific and democratic working methods, and a simple, sincere and healthy lifestyle. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau was trained from the grassroots and has worked in many positions in the army.
Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong added that, through many working positions, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau always strived, studied, and excellently completed his tasks.
The Standing Secretariat believes that the new Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee will continue to promote his experience and capacity, and work with the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee to unite and unite to fulfill his tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony to receive the assignment, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau said that he had studied the documents of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
“I clearly feel the determination and strong aspiration of the entire Party Committee when setting the goal of 'building Bac Giang province to develop comprehensively and firmly, to be among the 15 provinces and cities with the leading economic scale in the country by 2025'. That is the foundation for Bac Giang to enter a new stage of development", Mr. Nguyen Van Gau emphasized.
The new Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee pledged to be exemplary, make outstanding efforts, promote the strength of solidarity, and be closely attached to the Party Committee and people of Bac Giang to fulfill assigned tasks and strive to achieve the set goals.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau (born September 16, 1967), Kinh ethnic group, from Tan Thuy commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province. He has a high level of political theory and a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and Humanities.
Before 2019, he was Colonel, Deputy Political Commissar, Political Commissar of the 8th Infantry Division; Chief of Politics of Military Region 9.
In 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Political Commissar of Military Region 9 in November 2020.
On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
On January 27, 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision to appoint Major General Nguyen Van Gau to hold the position of Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
In January 2023, he was promoted from Major General to Lieutenant General, continuing to be Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
