Helicopters continue to provide relief to isolated flood areas in Nghe An

On July 25, MI-171 helicopter (number 03) of Regiment 916, Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force continued to carry out rescue missions in Nghe An province, transporting relief goods to areas isolated by floods.

The flight crew made two trips to transport relief goods using 150kg and 300kg cranes to Luong Minh and Tuong Duong communes of Nghe An province - areas that are seriously isolated due to floods.

More than 2 tons of goods, including essential necessities, were delivered to people, ensuring safety and avoiding damage during transportation.

These are areas heavily affected by natural disasters, with roads completely cut off, making air access the most feasible and effective option.

The timely deployment of relief flights demonstrates the high sense of responsibility and professionalism of officers and soldiers of Regiment 916 and the close coordination with local authorities in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, contributing to the early stabilization of people's lives in affected areas.

Previously, on July 24, the army conducted 6 flights and brought about 18 tons of relief goods to people isolated by floodwaters in Nghe An.

The working group led by Colonel Tran The Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Rescue and Relief, in coordination with the General Staff/Military Region 4, Air Defense - Air Force Service, and Army Corps 18 organized 6 relief flights to deliver food (3 flights to Tuong Duong commune; 1 flight to Ky Son commune; 1 flight to My Ly and Nhon Mai communes; 1 flight to Con Cuong commune). The total amount of relief goods transported was about 18 tons.

The Military Region 4 Command mobilized 9,293 officers and soldiers; 91 cars and 66 ships and boats of all kinds to overcome the consequences.

As of the afternoon of July 24, Nghe An province still had 30 communes completely and partially isolated with 22,394 households. The Ministry of National Defense mobilized 2 helicopters carrying dozens of tons of essential goods taking off from Vinh airport, urgently supplying people in isolated flood areas.
