The Ministry of Education and Training said it will participate in the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements to celebrate the 80th National Day with the theme "80 years of education and training to develop the country."
The exhibition booth of the Ministry of Education and Training will be divided into display areas according to historical periods associated with the outstanding achievements of the industry.
The exhibition area for the period 1945-1954 with the main content of the emulation movement to "eliminate illiteracy." This is also an outstanding achievement of Vietnamese education in the early years after the successful August Revolution and the years of resistance against the French colonialists. Responding to Uncle Ho's call and implementing the direction of the Party and State, the emulation movement to "eliminate illiteracy" and fight illiteracy in this period developed strongly, overcoming the situation of more than 90% of the population being illiterate - a consequence of the French colonialists' policy of "keeping people ignorant" to facilitate their rule. Also during this period, the first educational reform took place in 1950.
The exhibition area from 1954 to 1975 has the consistent spirit of this period that no matter how difficult it is, we must continue to compete to teach well and study well. Vietnam's education system during the period of building socialism in the North and fighting for national reunification, despite facing numerous difficulties, has achieved many encouraging results.
The outstanding educational activities of this period were the second educational reform in 1956; the first fields of study were built and developed in both quantity and quality; policies for education in mountainous and ethnic minority areas; care for training cadres and students in the South; support for the educational cause in the South; building a system of schools, developing universities, vocational high schools, and pedagogical schools; sending students abroad to study.
The exhibition area from 1975 to 1986 focuses on the unification of the North and South education systems. The exhibition introduces Vietnam’s education system in the early period of building socialism nationwide, including the third educational reform in 1979.
The exhibition area from 1986 to present introduces Vietnam's education and training in the renovation period, meeting the requirements of improving people's knowledge, nurturing talents, and training high-quality human resources for the country. During this period, Vietnam has innovated general education three times to improve the quality of training, meeting the requirements of the country's socio-economic development and international integration. In particular, the fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training according to Resolution 29 of the Party Central Committee issued since 2013 has been implemented in schools from grade 1 to grade 12, creating a great change in the whole industry.
The Ministry of Education and Training also dedicated an exhibition area on education and training towards the future, joining the country in entering an era of wealth and prosperity with the central message: The era of breakthrough in education and training development.
The exhibition area aims to affirm that training highly qualified and skilled human resources is a key factor in making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Along with economic growth, it is necessary to ensure the promotion of social progress, expand opportunities for all people to access quality education, lifelong learning and maximize individual potential. In the face of these urgent requirements, it is necessary to have strong institutional and policy decisions to remove bottlenecks, focus investment resources to quickly modernize and improve the quality of education and training with the goal of comprehensively developing learners and creating high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of the country's breakthrough development in the new period.
The exhibition of national achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day is an important and key event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). The exhibition will take place from August 28 to September 5 at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi).
