On the evening of August 13, the Ministry of Public Security held the National Press Awards Ceremony on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023-2025.
Attending the event were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang; representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.
Opening the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security, emphasized that after 100 years of accompanying the nation's revolutionary cause and 80 years of working side by side with the People's Public Security force, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has made great contributions to the arduous front line of fighting against crime, ensuring security and order, for national security and peaceful lives of the people...
The National Press Award on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023-2025 with nearly 1,300 entries, 152 entries in the final round, 72 winning entries, has a special and practical significance in commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day, and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security shared his emotion when knowing that many journalists and groups of authors have not feared danger, strived to overcome many difficulties, devoted much enthusiasm, intelligence, high responsibility and with deep affection for the People's Public Security force to create valuable works, conveying the message, mission, and noble aspirations of the Party, State, People's Public Security force and our people for a prosperous, truly secure, safe, peaceful and happy Vietnam.
The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 6 works that won A prizes; 12 works that won B prizes; 19 works that won C prizes; 35 works that won Encouragement prizes.
Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia assessed that this was a very meaningful activity, affirming the role of revolutionary journalism in the cause of protecting security and order, building a strong People's Public Security force and people's security posture, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party and State. This is also a forum for journalists to demonstrate their talent and dedication and an opportunity to honor outstanding journalistic works.
The "For National Security and Peaceful Life" Press Award is held every two years, on a national scale, and is increasingly widespread, not only to encourage, praise, and motivate journalists, but also to affirm the close and effective coordination between the People's Public Security force and press and media agencies.
Each season shows innovation and careful investment in both content and form of expression, promoting the pioneering spirit, steadfast political will, objective attitude and responsibility of the press towards important issues of the country in general and security and order in particular.

According to Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, from the vivid reality and requirements of the cause of protecting the Fatherland in the new period, press agencies, journalists, especially "writers" writing about security and order topics, need to pay attention to implementing well the key contents, including continuing to thoroughly grasp and deeply and comprehensively perceive the Central's policies and strategic decisions on building, developing the country and protecting the Fatherland.
The press needs to promote its political mettle, social responsibility and professional conscience to comprehensively, objectively and promptly reflect the efforts and achievements of the People's Public Security force in protecting political security and social order and safety with the spirit of "Respecting the people, being close to the people, when the people need it, when the people are in trouble, the police are there."
Journalistic works on security and order need to ensure accuracy, honesty, depth, promote positive social criticism, be imbued with humanity, and have profound educational values; arouse revolutionary vigilance, awareness of law observance, and civic responsibility, so that each citizen, each family, and each community becomes a "shield" to protect national security early, from afar, and from the grassroots.
The work needs to actively discover, honor and spread good and typical models in the movement "All people protect national security", associated with building cultural life, new rural areas, and civilized urban areas. Thereby, spreading the spirit of proactiveness, self-management, self-prevention, and self-protection right from the grassroots; persistently and resolutely fighting against all types of crime, especially high-tech crime, cyber crime, transnational fraud, drug trafficking, social evils...
Press agencies and Journalists Associations at all levels promote their roles and responsibilities in building regular special pages and columns, expanding coverage, and increasing the spread of information on security and order.
Proactively participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, combating and refuting false and hostile information, especially in cyberspace, not leaving an "information gap" for hostile and opportunistic forces to take advantage of and distort and sabotage.
In particular, the units attach importance to the application of digital technology and new methods in information production and transmission; promote the strength of the "multi-platform" press system to create a synchronous "information ecosystem" that spreads quickly and widely.../.
