The cultural sector contributes to affirming Hue's position.

Attending the ceremony were members of the City Party Committee: Nguyen Thanh Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Hoang Khanh Hung, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; former leaders of Hue City, former leaders of the Department of Culture & Sports through the periods; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors; and all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Culture and Sports sector of Hue City.

Established during the August Revolution, from the Central Viet Minh Volunteer Propaganda Team, to the Central Information and Propaganda Department, Thua Thien Information and Propaganda Department, Thua Thien Arts and Propaganda Department and later the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, the city's Culture and Information sector has continuously overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully complete the revolutionary tasks on the ideological and cultural front and in the journey of building the homeland and the country.

Since the re-establishment of the province, in response to new tasks, the Department of Culture and Information has simultaneously served political tasks, served the people and taken on the responsibility of focusing on the goal of building Hue into a cultural, tourist, and heritage center of Vietnam, a centrally-run city, consolidating its position and making efforts to make Hue worthy of being one of the major and unique cultural centers of the country and Southeast Asia.

During the renovation period, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City has increasingly affirmed its proactive and creative role in managing and organizing cultural, artistic, information and propaganda activities in the area, contributing to affirming the advantages and position of Hue culture - one of the major and unique centers of the country and the region, contributing an active role on the journey for Hue to become a centrally-governed city.

With its continuous efforts, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal from the President; the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister; and the Excellent Emulation Flag from the City People's Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism many times.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed that after 80 years of construction and development, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City has shown its core role in the cause of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, building a rich cultural and spiritual life for the people; making an important contribution to the cause of building and protecting the homeland and making the ancient capital of Hue famous on the cultural and artistic map of the whole country.

“Hue City has the honor and responsibility to inherit a brilliant culture with invaluable heritages, not only for the nation but also for humanity. Developing advanced Vietnamese and Hue culture, imbued with national identity and building Vietnamese and Hue people is the task of the whole society, of everyone, but first of all, of the team of cultural workers.

The Party, State and people of the whole country always give Hue an important position, with the goal of building Hue into a unique cultural and tourism center of Vietnam. To be worthy of that expectation, the city's Department of Culture & Sports needs to continue to focus on harmoniously combining the preservation and development of tangible and intangible heritage; developing "Hue - the festival city", building "elegant - hospitable" Hue people; creating efficiency between culture and economy; promoting digital transformation and promoting Hue culture; linking culture with people's lives...", Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized.

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Director of the City's Cultural - Cinema Center (Department of Culture & Sports) was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the State.
