In recent days, the 2025 Vesak Festival has attracted the attention of many people and Buddhists from all over the country. At Thanh Tam Pagoda (Binh Chanh District), after two days of opening for people to worship the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni, tens of thousands of people did not mind the long distance to come to worship.
At the waiting areas with a very high density of people, people wait in long lines under the hot weather, creating a high risk of heat stroke, which can be dangerous for their health. The city's health sector has arranged more than 50 doctors and nurses (morning) and more than 30 people (evening) to be on duty from 5am to 11pm every day, ready to receive and handle emergencies on the spot.

From the time the temple opened to the public until 4:00 p.m. on May 4, 278 cases received first aid on the spot and 7 cases were transferred to the hospital.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Health Department had synchronously deployed plans to ensure medical care in the Thanh Tam Pagoda area. The Health Department and the Organizing Committee arranged 2 permanent medical rooms right at the Pagoda area, in addition to 2 field medical tents and 10 ambulances always on duty on site.
When there is information about a case requiring assistance, the volunteer force will quickly approach, using stretchers or wheelchairs to move people to the medical tent for emergency treatment. Here, there is a team of doctors and nurses fully equipped with necessary emergency equipment, especially cooling equipment to prevent heatstroke supported by the Military Medical Department, ready to handle emergency situations on the spot.

The Department of Health also assigned hospitals in the area near Thanh Tam Pagoda to always be ready to provide professional support to the teams on duty at the pagoda and receive serious cases, including: Binh Chanh Hospital, Trung Vuong Hospital, Binh Dan Hospital, Nguyen Trai Hospital, Orthopedic Trauma Hospital, District 11 Hospital, Trieu An Hospital, Gia An 115, City International Hospital... ready to receive patients and provide professional support.
Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center plays the main role in coordinating all emergency activities, can mobilize additional medical support, mobilize 2-wheel ambulances. In addition, with a direct communication system with relevant forces (Police, Organizing Committee), 115 Emergency Center can consult with the Department of Health leadership to activate emergency procedures in case of a larger medical incident.
Thanks to good preparation, after 2 days of activities, although many people needed medical care (mainly heatstroke), the city's medical force made efforts and responsibly completed their tasks, without any serious medical incidents.
To ensure health when participating in the pilgrimage, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health recommends that people should bring hats, sun umbrellas, drinking water, and snacks; people with chronic diseases should take their medication on time; and should not jostle or push when participating in the pilgrimage to avoid falling or injury. If you feel tired or dizzy, you should immediately inform your companion, find a cool place to rest, and contact the nearest volunteer or medical tent for timely support.
