Ho Chi Minh City announces temporary tuition collection for semester I, school year 2023-2024

According to the document of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the city agreed to temporarily collect tuition fees for the 2023-2024 school year from public educational institutions in the area according to the proposal of the Department of Education and Training in Document 6041 dated October 18, 2023, until the Government issues a decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 81.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Department of Finance and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to deploy and provide specific instructions for educational institutions in the area to comply with regulations.

Regarding the specific policy to support tuition fees for preschool children, public and non-public primary school students and continuing education students in the 2023-2024 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to advise the City People's Committee to propose the development of a Resolution to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in accordance with the correct order and procedures.

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the provisional tuition fee for the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year is the same as the tuition fee for the 2021-2022 school year.

In particular, tuition fees at public educational institutions are applied according to 2 regional groups. Group 1 is students of schools in Thu Duc City and districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan. Group 2 is students of schools in districts Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be, Can Gio.
