On the occasion of comrade Tamura Tomoko being elected as Chairman of the Presidium of the 29th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Japan, on January 18, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a congratulatory message.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong congratulated the 29th Congress of the Communist Party of Japan on its great success and on comrade Tamura Tomoko being elected as Chairman of the Presidium of the 29th Central Executive Committee.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the fact that over the past 102 years, the Japanese Communist Party has always persevered in its goal of democratic revolution, moving towards socialist revolution, firmly opposing war and hegemony; attaching importance to developing theories on socialism, building guidelines, platforms and organizations.

The General Secretary expressed his belief that the Communist Party of Japan will successfully implement the Resolution of the 29th Congress, grow stronger, enhance its prestige and position in Japanese society, and actively contribute to peace , friendship, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was pleased that the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two Parties has been continuously consolidated and developed well; he affirmed his readiness to work with the new leadership of the Communist Party of Japan to maintain exchanges and contacts, enhance theoretical exchanges, and coordinate at multilateral forums.
