Less than a day since collaborating with Tuoi Tre newspaper, 2,000 FPT Long Chau pharmacies nationwide have welcomed many customers to support the program "Together with Tuoi Tre to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3-2024".
Two special guests
Ms. Chu Thi Thanh Tam remembers clearly that at 9am on September 13, two special guests came to the pharmacy on Thanh Thai Street (District 10). These were regular customers of the pharmacy so she thought they were coming to buy medicine as usual.
"But she did not buy medicine, but supported Tuoi Tre newspaper's program to help people in flood-affected areas," said Ms. Tam.
According to Ms. Tam, the two people who came to support were old and did not have bank accounts, so they brought cash and asked the pharmacy staff to transfer money to Tuoi Tre newspaper's program. At first, she only planned to contribute 5 million VND, but after her sister said she could help her transfer the money, she took another 5 million VND to send to the people.
"She sent the money without saying much, just told me to give it to the pharmacy and Tuoi Tre newspaper to send it to people in the North for her," Ms. Tam shared.
Not far away, FPT Long Chau pharmacy on 3/2 street (district 10) also received many kind hearts.
Like Mr. Tran Quoc Bao (25 years old, living in District 10) came to buy a box of bird's nest for 130,000 VND but he did not receive the change, but asked the staff here to send it to Tuoi Tre newspaper's account to help him support people in the North.
"Recently, I have been following the storm and flood situation on the news, and I felt so sad that I donated online to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. When I woke up this morning to buy bird's nest, I saw FPT Long Chau and Tuoi Tre newspaper campaigning, so I also wanted to contribute a little more money" - Mr. Bao shared.

You can eat anything here, but out there...
Selling coffee a few dozen meters from FPT Long Chau pharmacy on Hai Ba Trung street (District 3), Ms. Khuu Mui (58 years old, living in Tan Phu district) stopped by to buy a bottle of anti-dandruff shampoo.
Just opened the store, only had 200,000 VND bill and some change in her pocket, but seeing the QR sign calling for support for people in the North placed on the counter, she honestly asked the staff: I don't have an account but want to support, can I?
Saying that, she took the change she had just received, gathered a few thousand in her pocket, gave it to the staff here and asked them to transfer the money to Tuoi Tre newspaper for her.
"We're out of money, how can we give change to customers who bought coffee?" - we asked.
Mrs. Mui smiled: "It's okay, I sell in front of the market, if the customer gives me a lot of money, I'll come over and ask them to change it for me. I've been watching the news and seeing how the storms and floods have been so severe, I can't help myself, I want to contribute a little bit."

Looking at the photo of the storm and flood printed on the QR code board of Tuoi Tre newspaper calling for support for people placed on the pharmacy counter, Mrs. Mui was moved: "People are suffering so much, I don't have much money, I can only contribute a few tens of thousands to support the people in the North for one or two meals. Here we can eat anything, but out there now even with money it's hard to buy anything."
Mrs. Mui also regularly participates in volunteer activities, especially in charity kitchens. She said jokingly but her eyes showed her deep sorrow: "If circumstances allow, if it is necessary to go out there to cook to support my fellow countrymen, I will volunteer to go first."
The story of charity during the flood days is also shown through the way Mr. Bui Anh Thuy (51 years old, living in District 7) went to FPT Long Chau pharmacy on Le Van Luong street (District 7) to buy medicine for his son, then returned all the change to support the people of the North.
"Giving up 1-2 cups of coffee to support is nothing compared to the difficulties of the people out there," Mr. Thuy expressed.
He was also very happy to know that Tuoi Tre newspaper and FPT Long Chau pharmacy coordinated to call for support for flood victims. "It's very convenient, I come to buy medicine and if there's any left, I can send it back to my compatriots out there. A little bit of money makes a lot of money, little by little makes a lot," he said.
Pharmacy bustling with golden hearts
Representatives of the FPT Long Chau pharmacy system and vaccination center said that yesterday and early this morning, the pharmacy chain was much busier when the store's staff, in addition to consulting on medicine for customers, also spent more time introducing the program "Together with Tuoi Tre to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3-2024".
"Most customers respond and support us. Customers will leave extra money or even take extra money to support Tuoi Tre newspaper's program. For customers who cannot transfer money, our staff is also willing to transfer money for them," said the representative.
