Chosun ilbo reported that Hanam Police Station, Gyeonggi Province (South Korea) arrested A (28 years old) for threatening to kill 9 people in the entertainment company SM Entertainment.
The man posted the threat on a social media site. The reason he gave was that the SM girl group member did not reciprocate his feelings, even though he had been a fan of the group for 10 years.

A said he had liked a member of a girl group under SM Entertainment since he was a high school student. A confessed to the police that he wrote the threats in anger after repeatedly expressing his feelings for the female idol through messages on Instagram. However, the female idol did not respond.
However, the police said this statement was not credible. Through investigation data from searching A's residence and phone, the police determined that this man had planned a specific crime. A was confirmed to be working part-time and was said to be taking medication for a mental illness.
“The suspect planned a specific day to carry out his threat. He also planned to write the threats and detail several scenarios, including how to deal with the police,” police told Chosun Ilbo.
According to the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency, a total of 38 people who posted death threats have been arrested since the knife attack in Bundang District on August 3.
Recently, South Korea has been facing a situation of unprovoked knife attacks on crowds. These incidents have caused panic and fear among the people.
According to Yonhap news agency, the first incident occurred in Bundang district, Seongnam city, south of Seoul, when a young man in his 20s suddenly drove his car onto the pedestrian crossing and stormed into a shopping mall near Seohyeon subway station and pulled out a knife and stabbed people in the area.
