The Khmer people's Chol Chnam Thmay New Year activities will take place at the book street in Thu Duc City.

The Chol Chnam Thmay festival of the Khmer people will take place from April 13 to April 16. Thu Duc City will organize a cultural meeting and present gifts to Khmer people from poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households. The program is scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. on April 11, 2024 at Thu Duc City Book Street.

The event included cultural performances, New Year greetings from city leaders, sentiments from representatives of ethnic minority households, and gifts for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households (114 households).

In addition, the city also organized many activities to celebrate the Ethnic Culture Day on April 19, the 78th anniversary of the establishment of the state management agency in the field of ethnic affairs (May 3, 1946 - May 3, 2024). Organizing the display of images of activities, artifacts, costumes, ethnic musical instruments typical of the culture, arts and cuisine of ethnic groups; exhibition of socio-economic development achievements of Thu Duc city; images of ethnic affairs activities in the period of 2019-204 at the first Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Thu Duc City in 2024.

Organizing activities on the Ethnic Culture Day on April 19 aims to preserve and promote ethnic cultural traditions, contributing to strengthening the strength of national unity; preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups, practically caring for the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities.

Taking care of Chol Chnam Thmay in 2024 demonstrates the Party and State's concern and implementation of ethnic policies for ethnic minorities in Thu Duc city; contributing to helping Khmer people stabilize their lives and encouraging Khmer people to become increasingly attached to the locality.
