The team will depart for a United Nations peacekeeping mission at the United Nations Interim Security Mission in Abyei (UNISFA) in early August.

The 2nd Engineer Team has 184 members (19 of whom are women), mobilized from many military regions, branches, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and units throughout the army. The team is trained in specialized fields such as International Humanitarian Law, sexual violence prevention, explosives identification, engineering expertise exchange, foreign languages, medicine, technical logistics... to meet the requirements of the Mission as well as the requirements of the United Nations.

Up to this point, all officers and employees of the 2nd Engineer Team have been absolutely assured in terms of ideology, ready to set out to carry out the mission. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hao, Deputy Captain of the 2nd Engineer Team, said that the entire team has been thoroughly trained, fully equipped with the necessary engineering skills and other survival skills, fully equipped with the elements to be ready to deploy to carry out the mission in the area and determined to complete the assigned mission at the highest level.

During this deployment, according to UN regulations, each member of the 2nd Engineer Team will carry personal luggage weighing 100kg/person, including military equipment, personal living items, and some essential supplies, mainly spare parts, to ensure the ability to perform the tasks of the 2nd Engineer Team in the area. In addition, the members of the 2nd Engineer Team will also carry some items bearing the symbols of the country and the army as gifts during exchanges with international friends.
