
Leaders of Nghe An province working with the delegation included: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office and a number of departments and branches; leaders of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association and provincial press agencies.
PROMOTING THE POWER OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
At the meeting, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association heard information about the situation of press activities in Nghe An; as well as the results of activities in the first half of the term to implement the Resolution of the Vietnam Journalists Association Congress and the Resolution of the Nghe An Journalists Association Congress, term 2020 - 2025.

Currently, Nghe An has 82 press agencies operating in the area, including 3 local press agencies (with 160 reporters); 39 representative offices, 40 resident reporters of central press agencies (with more than 200 reporters), ranking 4th in the country.
Nghe An Journalists Association is a political - social - professional organization of journalists in the province, currently has 14 branches, with 396 members.
Over the years, the direction and orientation of the press has always been identified by the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, and directly by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, as one of the top important tasks and has been implemented and thoroughly implemented according to the motto: "Proactive, timely, convincing, effective".

Many documents have been issued to strengthen the leadership of provincial Party Committees and authorities in directing political and ideological orientation in press activities.
In particular, in 2021, Nghe An was the first province in the country to issue Project No. 11 dated December 22, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "Improving the effectiveness of direction, orientation and handling of press information in Nghe An province for the period 2021 - 2025".

Through the concretization of many contents, it has created cohesion, close coordination, unity, promoted the combined strength of all types of information and communication; created social consensus in deploying and implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and the province's laws.

Besides, the province always focuses on managing and rectifying the activities of newspapers, magazines, electronic information pages and social networks.
In the past time, the authorities have conducted 9 press inspections, imposing fines of more than 140 million VND; 9 electronic information site inspections, imposing fines of more than 50 million VND; and 12 subjects have been fined for taking advantage of social networks to provide and share false information, slander, and insult the reputation of organizations and the honor of individuals with a total fine of 95 million VND.

At the meeting, members of the delegation of the Journalists Association and leaders of Nghe An province discussed issues related to digital transformation; development, training and fostering of human resources; building economic and technical standards in journalism activities; directing, managing and rectifying the activities of newspapers, magazines, electronic information pages and social networks; supporting high-quality journalism; etc.
CONTRIBUTE TO BUILDING ADVANCED, HUMANITARIAN, MODERN JOURNALISM
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu highly appreciated the contributions of the press to the development of the province.
In the coming time, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu suggested that the Nghe An Journalists Association continue to effectively implement Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XI, XII) on Party building and rectification, and continue to implement Directive 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

The Provincial Journalists Association also needs to continue to adhere to the goals and orientations set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; to build an advanced, humane, and modern press and media industry.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu also proposed reviewing regulations, principles, and goals to suit the new situation; continuing to educate the ideology and ethics of journalists in conjunction with training and fostering.
Along with that, the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association needs to continue to monitor, inspect, conclude, handle or propose to superiors to handle acts that violate professional ethics; at the same time, do a good job of emulation and reward.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the Provincial Journalists Association regarding more attention to facilities, operating costs, and staffing, the Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee analyzed and responded specifically. The Provincial Party Committee will directly listen to the specifics to make appropriate adjustments for the Association's activities in the coming period.
Regarding the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also requested to pay more attention to the work and activities of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association; promptly protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of journalists, as well as strictly handle violations.
Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu also requested the Vietnam Journalists Association to pay attention to, support, encourage, motivate and continue to propagate the implementation of Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2023 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Speaking at the meeting, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi - former member of the Party Central Committee, former General Director of Vietnam News Agency, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association highly appreciated the results of the meeting, with contents that are both comprehensive and have specific impacts on the activities of Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association in the coming time.

Discussing the situation of press activities and life in general, and current challenges, the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association requested the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to continue directing the effective implementation of Directive 43-CT/TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Central Party Secretariat "On strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation" in the province.


Journalist Nguyen Duc Loi also suggested that the province pay attention to research and flexibly apply in solving problems such as building economic and technical standards, organizational structure, staffing, etc. for highly specific subjects such as journalism activities; as well as continue to pay attention and create conditions for journalism activities in Nghe An province to continue to develop.
