On the afternoon of April 17, after four working days (from April 14-17), with more than 20 in-depth and substantive discussion sessions, the 4th Summit of the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G) 2025 with the theme "Sustainable green transformation, people-centered" ended successfully.

The closing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed Ali; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, along with domestic and international delegates.

The conference adopted the Hanoi Declaration on sustainable, people-centered green transformation and the P4G Declaration on enhancing cooperation and coordination between P4G and international organizations and mechanisms on green growth. The issuance of the P4G Declaration on enhancing cooperation and coordination between P4G and international organizations and mechanisms on green growth is a prominent initiative of Vietnam at this conference to promote multilateral cooperation in promoting green goals.

Within the framework of the Conference, the Signing Ceremony of 3 Loan Agreements took place between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) on providing finance for projects to build climate-resilient infrastructure for sustainable development, with a total value of nearly 400 million USD.

Ms. Robyn McGuckin, Executive Chair of P4G, expressed her gratitude to the Vietnamese Government for hosting a successful and inspiring P4G Summit, highlighting the leaders' commitment to climate change action, promoting multilateral cooperation and policy coordination towards sustainable and inclusive development.

P4G Executive Chairman announced the continued support of an additional $4.7 million for 17 startups and reaffirmed the Korean Government's commitment to contribute $1.8 million to P4G.

Within the framework of the closing ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali jointly conducted the ceremony to transfer the role of hosting the fifth P4G Summit.

In his closing speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that the conference's discussion sessions were lively with many profound opinions, sharing valuable lessons, success stories and proposing many breakthrough initiatives; many practical activities were organized such as exhibitions of green solutions and products and business networking events.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the delegates who attended the Conference with their attention, sense of responsibility and important contributions; the Organizing Committee, the P4G Secretariat and the Conference service team for their efforts, responsibility, close and effective coordination over the past time so that Vietnam can successfully assume the role of P4G host in 2025.

The Prime Minister emphasized that green transformation is an inevitable journey, an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority for the successful implementation of sustainable development goals. This process requires global cooperation, multi-stakeholder cooperation between the Government, businesses, communities, and all people to ensure inclusive and equitable development, leaving no one behind.

The Prime Minister affirmed the five consensus outcomes achieved at the Conference. These are consensus on mobilizing finance to promote green transformation, sustainable development, public-private partnership models and innovative financial policies; consensus on encouraging research and development of green technology solutions; consensus on transforming sustainable agriculture and food systems; consensus on developing and training a high-quality workforce, especially in the fields of science, technology and innovation; consensus on efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy transformation.

The sum of the above five consensuses shows consensus in thinking, awareness, shared responsibility, solidarity, and promotion of multilateral cooperation for joint action and joint victory.

The Prime Minister called on countries, organizations and businesses to strengthen coordination with P4G members; join hands and contribute their responsibilities for the world's green future; turn commitments into actions, ideas into specific projects, consensus into strong determination for implementation, towards a sustainable and prosperous future for all countries, peoples and all people; together build an increasingly greener, cleaner, more beautiful and better world.

Vietnam pledges to continue accompanying member countries and international partners in realizing the commitments and initiatives made at the Conference, contributing to promoting a greener, more sustainable future for future generations.

The Prime Minister also affirmed the foreign policy of peace, independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a good friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community; at the same time, being steadfast in the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, contributing to promoting inclusive and sustainable green transformation, towards a green planet for today's and future generations.

The P4G 2025 Summit has come to an end, but at the same time, it has opened many new “doors” for cooperation, continuing to play the role of a catalyst in creating connections, nurturing new ideas and initiatives, and promoting partnerships and long-term, substantive cooperation.

The success of the Conference has affirmed Vietnam's pioneering role in participating in addressing global challenges. The organization of the Conference is of great significance, not only affirming Vietnam's participation and responsible contribution to the common efforts of the international community, but also helping to mobilize valuable international resources for the country's socio-economic development.

The organization of the fourth P4G Summit has conveyed to the international community the message of a Vietnam determined to transform its growth model, promote rapid, green and sustainable development, its achievements and strong economic development potential as well as the country's unique cultural values, the spirit of hospitality, friendliness and the steadfastness of the Vietnamese people.

At the Conference, countries and international organizations made many commitments to support and contribute to green transformation and sustainable development goals: South Korea committed to providing financial support for P4G in the coming period; UAE will support 50 billion USD for renewable energy projects in 70 countries; Japan supports many projects for 25 countries through a credit sharing mechanism, contributing to the global carbon reduction goal.

Countries also set targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and become carbon neutral through voluntary national contributions (NDCs)./.
