On the afternoon of October 24, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Guy Bradley, Chairman of John Swire & Sons Group (UK) who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Congratulating John Swire & Sons Group (Swire Group) with more than 200 years of history, operating in many fields and achieving revenue of about 16 billion USD in 2022, the Prime Minister welcomed the Group after 25 consecutive years of expanding investment and business activities in Vietnam in many important fields such as aviation, trade-industry, logistics, real estate, healthcare, beverage...
The Prime Minister suggested that the Group continue to research, develop, and further expand its operations in the fields of aviation, aviation services, trade and industry, logistics, real estate, healthcare, production, distribution and retail networks, etc. in Vietnam; focus on investing in developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources, in Vietnam; and study practical and effective cooperation with Vietnamese universities and vocational schools.
Along with that, the Prime Minister requested the Group to increase the application of the latest science and technology in production, encourage the increase of added value, localization rate and use of domestic supporting technology in Vietnam; increase support for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the Group's supply chain; effectively use renewable energy sources, harmoniously develop economic efficiency with social responsibility, thereby supporting Vietnam to achieve its goals of green growth and sustainable development, effectively respond to climate change.

Mr. Guy Bradley, Chairman of Swire Group, introduced to the Prime Minister the Group and its long-term operation plan in Vietnam, and discussed the Group's commitments to sustainable development, green growth and circular economy.
Chairman Guy Bradley said that Swire Group has been operating in Vietnam since 1988 through activities supporting oil and gas businesses, tea trading and blending, aviation (through Cathay Pacific, a subsidiary of the Group), real estate, etc.
In January 2023, Swire Coca-Cola Limited (a subsidiary of Swire) acquired Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Company Limited, Coca-Cola's bottling partner in Vietnam. Swire Coca-Cola creates jobs for more than 2,000 direct employees and 20,000 indirect employees in Vietnam.
Appreciating Vietnam's increasingly improved business investment environment, Mr. Guy Bradley affirmed his belief in the success of business activities in Vietnam.
Mr. Guy Bradley said that the Group has a very high commitment to Vietnam and will continue to expand its investment activities, especially in the fields of aviation, healthcare, etc., continuing to contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
Welcoming and appreciating these orientations, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always cares about, supports, accompanies, and protects the legitimate and legal rights and interests of foreign investors on the basis of harmonious benefits, shared risks, and the success of foreign enterprises in Vietnam is also the success of Vietnam, and assigned agencies to promptly handle related issues to quickly, effectively, and sustainably implement specific projects of the Group.
