(NLDO)- On the afternoon of March 14, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Wouter Van Wersch, Global Executive Vice President of Airbus Group, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its relations with European countries, especially the countries that form Airbus, including the UK, Germany, France and Spain; and is ready to further deepen the traditional, trustworthy relationship and strategic partnership with these countries, especially in economics, trade and investment, thereby helping Vietnamese partners have a better foundation and conditions for cooperation with Airbus.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam aims to achieve a growth rate of at least 8% in 2025 and double digits in the following years, developing rapidly and sustainably to become a high-income developed country by 2045; in which, the maximum exploitation of sea space, underground space and outer space will be made. Therefore, the demand for developing the transportation industry, including aviation, will increase. Vietnam's aviation market is growing positively, with international transport volume in 2024 reaching 41.4 million passengers and 1 million tons of cargo.
Currently, Vietnam has 4 airlines, operating 98 international routes to 20 countries and territories. Vietnamese airlines continue to expand their investment and business. Vietnam has a system of 22 airports and is continuing to invest and upgrade many large airports such as: Long Thanh International Airport, Gia Binh Airport, Chu Lai Airport...

The Prime Minister stated that Vietnam continues to improve its institutions and reform administrative procedures... Thereby, helping Vietnamese enterprises as well as foreign enterprises, including Airbus, to invest effectively in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam is developing its aviation economy and expanding international air routes; he asked Airbus to invest, participate and support the development of the Vietnamese aviation industry ecosystem; he affirmed that Vietnam is committed to creating all favorable conditions, in accordance with the provisions of law, for foreign investors in general and Airbus Group in particular to invest and do business effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister suggested that Airbus continue to cooperate with Vietnamese airlines to develop the aviation industry in Vietnam, including developing Vietnam's aircraft fleet, and consider early delivery of aircraft orders signed with Vietnamese airlines to meet the fleet development needs of airlines in the coming time.

At the same time, expand the supply chain and manufacture of Airbus aircraft equipment in Vietnam and globally; establish an aircraft maintenance and repair center in Vietnam; invest in component manufacturing factories, and participate in the development of Vietnam's aviation industry ecosystem.
Along with that, Airbus Group considers transferring technology to Vietnamese partners in developing the aviation industry; training high-quality human resources, improving aviation quality and pilot training; sharing management experience with Vietnam; continuing to promote the Group's comprehensive and available cooperation with Vietnamese ministries, branches and agencies, especially in new areas of cooperation such as: Developing aviation logistics, aerospace, satellites, promoting science and technology development, e-commerce, etc.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Airbus Group to speak out to promote the early ratification of the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), creating conditions for European and Vietnamese enterprises in general and Airbus in particular to strengthen business cooperation and investment in Vietnam.
Airbus Group's Global Executive Vice President said that Airbus Group is a long-term partner with Vietnamese agencies and enterprises, with about 200 Airbus aircraft being operated by Vietnamese airlines such as Vietjet, Vietnam Airlines, etc., accounting for 65% of the aircraft market share in Vietnam. Airbus is cooperating with a Japanese partner to build an Over-wing door aircraft component manufacturing plant in Vietnam.
Airbus Group's Global Executive Vice President said that in addition to supplying aircraft, Airbus can support the development of the aviation industry in Vietnam, including: Developing the aircraft manufacturing supply chain; digital transformation of the aviation industry; training aviation human resources...
According to Mr. Wouter Van Wersch, Airbus not only focuses on current aircraft lines but also researches and develops advanced aviation technology to meet future needs.
Therefore, in addition to cooperation in civil aviation, Airbus can implement project activities in space technology, aircraft component manufacturing, etc.; hoping that Vietnam will continue to create favorable conditions for the Group to cooperate with related units and enterprises to upgrade and develop sustainable aircraft as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commented, as well as Vietnam's development orientation in the coming time.
