Phong Phu 2 chrysanthemum growing village (Ninh Giang ward, Ninh Hoa town) is considered the “capital” of chrysanthemums in Khanh Hoa province. Phong Phu 2 chrysanthemum village was recognized as a traditional craft village by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in 2016.

Mr. Tran Cao Bao (52 years old, in Ninh Giang ward) is also busy mobilizing manpower day and night to plant flowers in time for the Tet flower season. Mr. Bao said that since around October, his family has been cleaning and sanitizing the land, fertilizing with organic fertilizer, to prepare for the new crop.

“This year, my family planted more than 2,000 potted chrysanthemums. This year, the price of seeds is quite high. Up to now, the weather is good so the plants are growing beautifully. According to flower growers, flower planting time is from mid-September of the lunar calendar and is expected to be harvested at the end of December of the lunar calendar.

Phong Phu 2 chrysanthemums have bright colors, large flowers, green and thick leaves and have long been favored by the market. In 2016, Phong Phu 2 chrysanthemum growing village was recognized as a traditional craft village by Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

It is also known that this year's Tet chrysanthemum crop has nearly 100 households growing chrysanthemums with more than 35,000 pots. Chrysanthemums here are mainly crystal and large varieties.

“To serve the Tet market, the whole ward has nearly 100 households producing chrysanthemums. Compared to last year, the number of households participating in growing Tet flowers has decreased slightly by 10%. Most of the chrysanthemums of the craft village, 50%, will be supplied to the southern provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, etc. 50% will be supplied to the entire Khanh Hoa province and neighboring provinces. Currently, flower growers are preparing to take care of the flowers to have a successful Tet season, meeting the market demand inside and outside the province,” said Mr. Phan Sang - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Ninh Giang Ward People's Committee.
