Mr. Tran Ve Quoc (64 years old, in Ninh Giang ward) said that this year his family planted more than 900 chrysanthemums on a total area of ​​more than 500 square meters. These days, Mr. Quoc's family is busy planting flowers to serve the Tet market.

Mr. Quoc's family has invested in labor and lighting systems to help the flowers bloom and grow well.

To ensure a beautiful flower garden, in addition to planting seeds at the right time, flower growers must also carefully select healthy seedlings to plant and take good care of them.

Mr. Tran Cao Bao (52 years old, in Ninh Giang ward) is also busy mobilizing manpower day and night to plant flowers in time for the Tet flower season. Mr. Bao said that since around October, his family has been cleaning and sanitizing the land, fertilizing with organic fertilizer, to prepare for the new crop.

“This year, my family planted more than 2,000 potted chrysanthemums. This year, the price of seeds is quite high. Up to now, the weather is good so the plants are growing beautifully. Hopefully, by Tet, the weather will be favorable, so people will have more income from the flower industry,” said Mr. Bao.

According to flower growers, flower planting time is from mid-September of the lunar calendar and is expected to be harvested at the end of December of the lunar calendar.

People use lights to illuminate the flowers at night so that the flowers grow well.

In addition to serving the local flower market, Phong Phu 2 Chrysanthemum Village is also the main supplier of Tet flowers for Khanh Hoa province and neighboring areas. In recent years, the Tet chrysanthemum market has been quite stable, bringing in a good income for the people.

Phong Phu 2 chrysanthemums have bright colors, large flowers, green and thick leaves and have long been favored by the market. In 2016, Phong Phu 2 chrysanthemum growing village was recognized as a traditional craft village by Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

It is also known that this year's Tet chrysanthemum crop has nearly 100 households growing chrysanthemums with more than 35,000 pots. Chrysanthemums here are mainly crystal and large varieties.
