Do Viet Duy Khiem is one of 12 students awarded the title of Valedictorian for his excellent academic and training achievements, out of a total of more than 3,700 students recognized as graduates of Course CQ59, Academy of Finance.
I am also one of the five valedictorians who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam and are active in the Party Cell of the Student Affairs Department, Academy of Finance.
Striving to overcome difficulties
Notably, the 59th Course of the Academy of Finance took place during a period of special difficulties due to the pandemic and the post-Covid-19 period. The opening ceremony and student enrollment had to be conducted online. In addition, extreme weather phenomena due to climate change with heat waves and storms and floods have negatively affected students' learning and living activities. In particular, Storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) in 2024 and its circulation have a wide range of influence in many provinces and cities, causing extremely terrible consequences, negatively affecting all aspects of society and people's lives, including the families and students of CQ59.
Together with the whole country, the Party Committee and the authorities at all levels, the teaching staff of the Academy of Finance has made every effort under possible conditions, focusing on solving difficulties, removing obstacles, overcoming challenges, and striving to fulfill the assigned political tasks. Uncle Ho's heartfelt advice on the occasion of entering the 1968-1969 school year: "No matter how difficult it is, we must continue to compete in teaching well and studying well" has always been a source of strength to motivate all lecturers, staff serving students in the education career, especially in difficult times.
The Academy quickly switched all activities to online via Zoom software, performing a dual task - both preventing the epidemic and ensuring political tasks. The Academy's students in general, and students of the 59th course in particular, quickly stabilized and confidently responded to this dual task. During the period of hard distancing according to Directive 16 of the Prime Minister to prevent and fight this epidemic, the Academy has implemented socialization to promptly support students in the Academy's dormitories, support students in difficult circumstances during the epidemic, issue administrative documents to students online... The Academy has also mobilized resources to provide cash support to students whose families were affected by Typhoon Yagi.
Students of the 59th course have made great efforts, overcome all difficulties to complete their study tasks well, actively practice and participate in scientific research, group activities and actively participate in supporting the community.
12 valedictorians were honored to be among more than 300 outstanding students, representing their comprehensive efforts, who were awarded at the Closing Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony of the 59th regular university course at the Academy on August 9. These are the faces with high academic achievements, active in scientific research activities, group activities and many contributions in community service activities.

Efforts to create value for the community
Sharing the secret to actively participating in Youth Union and Association activities while achieving good academic results, Do Viet Duy Khiem said he always tries to live with a goal and not let time pass meaninglessly with the principle: studying is the root, but not letting himself just hang around with books.
“Participating in Youth Union and Association activities or scientific research not only helps me improve my profile, but also helps me understand the world, people and myself better. Each experience from these activities teaches me about perseverance, discipline and responsibility,” said Do Viet Duy Khiem.
According to the valedictorian of the Academy of Finance, achievements are the reward of a process, but what is more precious is the journey of maturity. Do Viet Duy Khiem believes that anyone can do what they want and more - as long as they constantly ask themselves: "Have I really tried my best?".
Before entering the Academy of Finance, Do Viet Duy Khiem was quite hesitant because he had no passion for numbers, but after becoming a student at the Academy, the young student realized that his choice that year was actually the right decision.
The systematic training program, dedicated teachers and dynamic learning environment have helped Do Viet Duy Khiem not only accumulate a professional foundation in marketing, dispelling the fear of numbers, but also help students improve soft skills, critical thinking and the ability to apply in practice, especially the ability to analyze data - one of the extremely necessary factors in future career preparation.
By actively participating in scientific research, extracurricular activities and connecting with businesses, Do Viet Duy Khiem has more clearly defined his future career path and nurtured his aspiration to become a valuable marketer to the community.
Giving advice to students about to enter university, Do Viet Duy Khiem believes that if you know clearly what you want, dare to start and make efforts every day, the door to the Academy of Finance or any dream university will soon open wide.
“I believe that we are living in an era where technology is gradually becoming a powerful tool to help each person become more advanced and modern. If we know how to master technology, we can go far. The effort to proactively explore and learn today will be an important stepping stone for future success,” the new graduate of the Academy of Finance emphasized.
