Playing the role of Bay Loan ( a character inspired by People's Artist Phung Ha) in the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" (starring Song Luan), Thien An had to go through a difficult preparation process.

One of the notable points that adds to the appeal of the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" is the role of Bay Loan, played by Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 Doan Thien An.

According to the crew of the film "Cong Tu Bac Lieu", the character Bay Loan was inspired by People's Artist Phung Ha.

Legend has it that, while having dinner with the Black and White Princes, Miss Phung Ha accidentally dropped a one-dollar bill. Immediately, the Black Prince “showed off” by taking a 20-dollar bill and lighting it on fire to help the White Prince find the one-dollar bill for her.

Having never had any experience in the field of reformed opera, to play the role, Doan Thien An had to focus on practicing both her singing voice and the typical movements of this art form.

To fully perform the scene on stage, Thien An spent many months practicing with veteran cai luong artists, learning how to move, use hands, feet, and eyes to get as close as possible to this art form.

Thien An shared that getting used to the soft, graceful yet sophisticated movements of Cai Luong is a big challenge, requiring high concentration and patience.

Director Ly Minh Thang said that Thien An had to go through a journey full of effort to take on the role of Bay Loan. In addition to learning to sing Cai Luong, Doan Thien An also had to follow a strict weight loss regimen to prepare for the role.

Film director "The Prince of Bac Lieu" said, Thien An is very natural, comfortable in front of the camera, not afraid of challenges, confident in performing all requirements of the role.

There were some scenes that were quite emotional, requiring Thien An to film for many hours, but she never complained or showed any signs of fatigue.

Talking about the male lead Song Luan, Miss Thien An said that she had a feeling that she would act in a movie with Song Luan before he was officially chosen for the role in the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu".

Talking about the "hot scenes" with Song Luan in the film, Miss Thien An said, "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" is a film that focuses on depicting the historical and cultural stories of the South in the early 20th century. The "hot" scenes, if any, will be used to deeply depict the relationships between the characters and will be shown carefully and subtly.

Sharing the same opinion with Thien An, Song Luan said, hot scenes may appear if necessary - to highlight the character's inner development.

Through the filming of "Cong Tu Bac Lieu", he felt that Thien An is an open-minded person, knows how to listen and learn.

Song Luan is happy because Thien An is always comfortable and professional, creating conditions for both actors to work comfortably and trust each other, thereby helping the filming scenes go more smoothly.

The movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" is expected to be released on December 6, 2024.
