Pepper prices today, March 28, 2025, in the domestic market suddenly increased sharply in key localities, trading from 159,000 - 160,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 159,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (159,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (160,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (160,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (159,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (159,000 VND/kg).
Thus, pepper prices today are stable in key growing areas. The highest pepper price is at 160,000 VND/kg. The domestic market is stable at a high level.
Compared to before Tet, domestic pepper prices increased by 6.4 - 7.3% in February, to 157,000 - 159,000 VND/kg.
According to Dak Lak Newspaper, in recent years, pepper cultivation in the province has had many positive changes. Accordingly, people have gradually changed their thinking, focusing on production according to clean, sustainable organic standards; strengthening production linkages along the value chain, deep processing... creating quality products to meet domestic consumption needs as well as export.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Minh, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Cu Kuin district, said that the whole Cu Kuin district currently has more than 4,649 hectares of pepper, with an estimated output of more than 13,000 tons.
Thanks to the advantage of flat terrain, suitable climate and the people's application of effective farming methods (using up to 97% of living poles, prioritizing organic fertilizers combined with biological products for care and pest control), pepper plants in Cu Kuin have developed sustainably, bringing jobs and stable income to many farmers.
Currently, in addition to selling products to traders and purchasing facilities, the district has built 3 production chains linked to pepper consumption between growing households and businesses.
According to Dong Nai Information Portal, at this time, farmers in the province, especially in Long Khanh City, are entering the pepper harvest season. The joy of gardeners is multiplied when this year's pepper price is higher than previous years, bringing significant profits.
It is forecasted that the demand for pepper in the world market in the coming time will remain high, opening up hope that pepper prices can continue to increase. However, besides that, the pepper growing industry still has potential instabilities.
Pepper growers said that the 2024 dry season caused severe drought and erratic weather, leading to crop failure and a significant decrease in pepper yield, from 20-40% compared to the previous year. Many pepper gardens experienced uneven flowering and fruiting, with the next crop often having a high percentage of empty seeds, requiring a lot of care, forcing many gardeners to decide to harvest only once, affecting the total yield.
At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,229 USD/ton; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 7,000 USD/ton; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,900 USD/ton.
Muntok white pepper price is 10,052 USD/ton; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 12,400 USD/ton.
Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 7,100 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,300 USD/ton; white pepper price at 10,100 USD/ton.
