DNVN - Because this time the petrol price adjustment is on April 18, coinciding with the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, the petrol price adjustment will be carried out 1 day earlier.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued an urgent document announcing that the decision to adjust gasoline prices will be made on Wednesday this week, instead of the regulation to adjust gasoline prices on Thursday because it falls on the Hung Kings' death anniversary.
According to Decree No. 80 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95 and Decree No. 83 of the Government on petroleum trading, which stipulates the time for managing petroleum prices, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday.
In case the operating time coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows:
If Thursday falls on the first day of a holiday, the petrol price adjustment will be made on the preceding Wednesday. If Thursday falls on any other holiday, the petrol price adjustment will be made on the first working day after the holiday.
In case the price of petroleum products fluctuates abnormally, affecting socio-economic development and people's lives, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is responsible for reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the appropriate time to manage petroleum prices.
According to current regulations, Thursday, April 18, 2024, which is the 10th day of the third lunar month, is a holiday (Hung King's Commemoration Day). Therefore, the next gasoline price adjustment after the adjustment on April 11 will be implemented on Wednesday, April 17.
