A young prodigy from India is capturing the world's attention with his intelligence and creativity.

In 2023, Rishi Shiv Prasanna, an 8-year-old boy from Bengaluru, was honored by President of India Droupadi Murmu with the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar National Children's Award for his exceptional achievements as an Android app developer, according to The Indian Express.

Rishi is not only an app developer, book author, YouTuber digital content creator but also a boy with an intelligence quotient (IQ) of 180, higher than the great physicist Albert Einstein. He is also one of the youngest members of Mensa International, the oldest and most prestigious association for people with the top 2% of IQs in the world.

Rishi has developed three mobile apps, including “IQ Test App” for kids, “Countries of the World” and “Bangalore Covid Helpline”. He has published two books and is currently planning to complete another one.

A native of Nanjangud town of Mysuru district in Karnataka, India, the child prodigy Rishi currently lives in Uttarahalli town in Bengaluru with his family. His father is a professor at an engineering college, while his mother works as a software engineer.

His genius was evident from an early age. Rishi's teachers in kindergarten noticed that he was far ahead of his seniors in terms of understanding and grasping problems. At the age of three, he began talking about the solar system, planets and the universe while other children his age were just learning the alphabet and numbers.

From science, Rishi became interested in technology and by the age of 5, he had learned coding and researched computer science, and had finished reading all 7 books of the Harry Potter series.

Rishi told The Indian Express that he was honoured to meet President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The Prime Minister asked me about the apps I had designed and their uses. I explained them briefly and also sought the leaders’ help in implementing the ideas and innovations. They responded positively,” Rishi said.

With an IQ of 180, Rishi is the “youngest certified Android developer” in the history of India. His IQ is even higher than that of Albert Einstein (at 160) and much higher than the normal range of 85-115 for most people.

When asked about people around him who have lower IQs than him, Rishi said, “Everyone has some other ability or potential. Everyone needs to explore and not worry about other things. Everyone’s ability needs to be encouraged.”

“You can only gain knowledge by reading many books. When you study, you will get answers to all questions and will no longer be afraid to answer any kind of question. I want to become a scientist in the future and wish to contribute to society and the country ,” the boy said.

Rishi said he was very interested in zoology and wanted to become a scientist in the field. The young innovator also said he had written a book on science.

While Rishi is lauded for his extraordinary achievements, it has also been a challenge for his parents to raise him. “ He is very active and it has been a challenge for us to accommodate his intelligence. The family has been instructed to encourage Rishi in whatever he wants to do.”

Despite being advised to move their son to a higher class, the Prasanna family let him develop naturally. “ Being with children of the same age as classmates was very important for Rishi's development."
