The decision was made by the FAA after evaluating the investigation results and corrective measures related to the incident with the second stage of the Falcon 9 rocket.

Earlier, on September 30, the FAA asked SpaceX to investigate the cause of an incident that occurred during a launch for the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This incident led to the third suspension of the Falcon 9 rocket in 3 months. In this latest incident, the Falcon 9 booster crashed into the Pacific Ocean, outside the safety zone approved by the FAA.

On October 11, the FAA said it had concluded its investigation into Falcon 9 failures during Starlink satellite launches in July and August. The FAA is scheduled to issue a statement on October 13 regarding the Falcon 9's ability to support the European Space Agency's Hera spacecraft launch from Florida.
