Tears of the Kingdom' has reaped sweet fruit

According to The Gamer , The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was once thought to have a difficult journey to catch up with its predecessor, Breath of the Wild . But now that more fans have actually experienced the world of this game, it can be seen that Tears of the Kingdom is actually capable of competing not only with its predecessor, but also with other popular Switch games.

In just a few days, Tears of the Kingdom has risen to become the fourth best-reviewed game on the Nintendo Switch. It's ahead of other big names like Metroid Prime Remastered , Persona 5 Royal, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate , and Animal Crossing New Horizons . While it's still not enough to dethrone Breath of the Wild , it's a solid start.

Location of Tears of the Kingdom   comes from review site Metacritic, which tends to list the overall reception of each Switch game release. Specifically, Tears of the Kingdom came in fourth place, between The House in Fata Morgana and the Portal Companion Collection (which includes Portal and Portal 2 ).

Unsurprisingly, the competition for the top spot is fierce. Both Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey have a score of 97/100, the highest of any game on the Switch platform. However, that's just one point ahead of Tears of the Kingdom and Portal , leaving room for the Zelda sequel to overtake it in the near future.

In addition to Metacritic, Tears of the Kingdom has also earned the title of OpenCritic's highest-rated game ever. With a score of 97/100, it is tied with Super Mario Odyssey for the highest score on the site, slightly ahead of Breath of the Wild , Red Dead Redemption 2 , and Elden Ring .
