On the morning of July 14, Mr. Vo Minh Tuan - Deputy Director of Kien Giang Port Authority said: ships and ferries on the Rach Gia, Ha Tien to Phu Quoc routes have been requested to temporarily stop operating since yesterday. However, today the wind is still gusting at level 7 to level 8, the waves are 2.5-3m high (yesterday, July 13, they were only 1.5-2.5m), so the remaining ship routes to the islands of Nam Du, Lai Son, (Kien Hai island district) and Tien Hai (Ha Tien city) are also forced to stop operating.

Due to the inactivity of ships and ferries, thousands of tourists, residents, and officials on business trips were stranded on Phu Quoc Island.

Many people live in Rach Gia City, Can Tho, An Giang... but due to urgent work, they have to buy plane tickets to Ho Chi Minh City to take a bus home. Many officials on business trips are also stuck on the island. Some conferences, seminars... have also had to be temporarily suspended.
