With its new Global Selling platform, Alibaba International aims to increase sales for Korean sellers by giving them access to the company's global sales network. The program aims to lower barriers for Korean companies looking to enter new markets, especially as demand for Korean products in fashion , beauty, food, and K-pop continues to grow.

According to the Korea Times, Global Selling will first connect Korean sellers and businesses with markets in Japan, Spain, France and the United States starting in October. Participating businesses will be exempted from deposits and sales commissions for five years. The program will provide multilingual translation services.

With the total number of e-commerce users in South Korea reaching around 34 million, AliExpress aims to attract 17 million people in the coming years through marketing strategies and infrastructure investments.

In recent years, Chinese e-commerce platforms, including AliExpress and PDD Holdings' Temu, have stepped up their marketing strategies to attract consumers in South Korea.
