On February 5, Tien Lang District People's Court (Hai Phong City) opened a mobile first-instance trial at the headquarters of Dai Thang Commune People's Committee to publicly try the case of illegal possession of fireworks and firecrackers, sentencing defendant Pham Van Hoang (33 years old, residing in Dai Thang Commune, Tien Lang District, Hai Phong City) to 45 months in prison.

According to the indictment, on December 23, 2023, in Tram Khe village (Dai Thang commune, Tien Lang district, Hai Phong city), Tien Lang district police coordinated with the Economic Police Department of Hai Phong city police to discover and arrest defendant Hoang for possessing prohibited goods, specifically foreign-made fireworks and firecrackers, seizing 39.745 kg of fireworks and firecrackers.

During an emergency search of Hoang's residence, authorities seized an additional 1,815 kg of fireworks and firecrackers.

On December 29, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of Tien Lang District Police issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case and prosecute Hoang for the act of storing prohibited goods, as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 191 of the Penal Code.
