On May 27, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed and issued Directive 16/CT-TTG of the Prime Minister on strengthening the prevention and fight against crimes and violations of the law related to gambling organization and gambling activities.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security to strengthen the work of grasping the situation, promptly detecting and strictly handling gambling and organizing gambling. Deploying peak periods of attacking, suppressing and destroying criminal lines and gangs operating in gambling and organizing gambling. Effectively implementing the work of receiving and handling denunciations, crime reports, and recommending prosecution related to gambling and organizing gambling. Prevent and delete articles, content, images, etc. of illegal advertisements related to organizing gambling and gambling activities.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to coordinate with localities to strengthen the management of lottery business activities, not allowing subjects to take advantage of organizing gambling and gambling in the form of buying lottery numbers, lottery numbers or distributing lottery tickets in the wrong way. Complete the legal framework on lottery business in accordance with the current market situation.
