Attending the event was German Ambassador to Vietnam Helga Margarete Barth.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director Doan Hoang Minh congratulated Ms. Andrea Maria Suhl on her new position, believing that with her extensive experience, the new Consul General will make effective and practical contributions to the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership, especially in consular cooperation.
Director Doan Hoang Minh affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Consular Department and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs) together with Vietnamese authorities will continue to accompany the Consulate General and create favorable conditions for the new Consul General to successfully complete his term of office in Vietnam.
Director Doan Hoang Minh hopes that the two sides will continue to closely coordinate, facilitate exchanges and travel between the two countries and further strengthen cooperation in priority issues such as education , labor, science and technology, and energy conversion.

For her part, Ms. Andrea Maria Suhl thanked Director Doan Hoang Minh for taking the time to receive and present the Consular Acceptance Certificate, and expressed her joy at the positive developments in bilateral relations.
The new Consul General thanked the Vietnamese authorities for their support to German representative agencies in Vietnam in recent times, especially on the occasion of organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1975-2025).
Ms. Andrea Maria Suhl affirmed that during her term, she will continue to promote bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as investment cooperation, science and technology, education and especially consular cooperation in the context of increasing people-to-people exchange and travel between the two countries.
