Part of the Lach Huyen waterway (Hai Phong) will be temporarily closed during the cable laying construction to repair the 110kV power line supplying power to Cat Ba Island.
According to Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority, on November 30 - December 1, Hai Phong Electricity will carry out cable pulling to repair the 110kV line after the incident at Lach Huyen overpass supplying electricity to Cat Ba Island, Hai Phong City.
Part of Hai Phong's shipping lane will be closed for a fixed period of 2 days, November 30 - December 1, to serve the cable pulling construction for the repair of the 110kV line (Illustration photo).
Therefore, a part of Lach Huyen waterway will be temporarily suspended in the area of the 110kV high voltage power line crossing Lach Huyen waterway. The suspension time is from 06:00 to 18:00 on November 30 and December 1.
All vessels are requested not to travel through the cable laying construction area to repair the 110kV line after the incident at Lach Huyen crossing supplying electricity to Cat Ba island during the above time frame.
Ships must strictly comply with the regulations and instructions of Hai Phong VTS - Maritime Traffic Coordination and regulatory forces in the construction area to ensure maritime safety in the area.
Mr. Bui Nguyen Khoi, Director of Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority, informed that this activity will mainly affect the journey of ships entering and leaving ports in the Cam River area, not affecting ships entering and leaving in the Lach Huyen area.
"During the cable construction period, the port authority will coordinate with relevant units to regulate and divide traffic appropriately," said Mr. Khoi, adding that most ships passing through the Hai Phong channel are at their densest after 6 p.m. to take advantage of high tide. Therefore, the regulation plan will prioritize large-tonnage ships entering and exiting the area.
For inland waterway vehicles, port authorities and related units will have appropriate traffic flow and regulation plans to ensure safety and not affect vehicle operations.
