As of 5 p.m. on July 27, the Ministry of Education and Training's general admission system had nearly 600,000 candidates registered for admission with a total of 2.9 million wishes on the system. On average, each candidate registered for nearly 5 wishes for admission to universities nationwide.

This year, the whole country has more than one million candidates taking the high school graduation exam, of which about 917,700 students use the exam results to both graduate and apply for university admission.

From July 10 to 5:00 p.m. on July 30, candidates can register, adjust and add university admission wishes online an unlimited number of times.

According to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, online registration of admission wishes is done on the Ministry's general admission system at https://thisinh.thithptquocgia.edu.vn or on the National Public Service Portal.

Candidates use the assigned account to enter, edit, and view information. The wishes are arranged in order. Each student will only be admitted to the highest wish among the registered ones.

This year, the Ministry of Education and Training has improved the software to avoid confusion among candidates about admission methods and combinations. Candidates only register for schools, majors, and training programs. The system will rely on candidates' score data to optimize the admission process.

The Ministry noted that candidates who have met the conditions for early admission to schools must still register their wishes on the system. Otherwise, candidates have given up the right to be admitted to that major/school.

Previously, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, warned of risks for more than 72,000 candidates who only registered for one university choice. She advised candidates to add more choices because if there is a risk, the Ministry's system will continue to consider admission so that candidates have other opportunities. Candidates should put their favorite choice and the choice they feel is most suitable at the top.

For the group of candidates who were admitted early, the Director of the Department of Higher Education also noted that they still have to do the final step of registering on the Ministry's system and paying the correct fee.

This year, the Ministry of Education and Training has come up with a solution to reduce the virtual situation by requiring candidates to register all their wishes on the admission system. Accordingly, even if a candidate registers many wishes, they will still only be determined to be admitted to the highest priority wish, meeting the passing conditions.
