On the evening of March 14, at 7/5 Square, a preliminary rehearsal of the art program to open the Dien Bien National Tourism Year and the 2024 Ban Flower Festival took place. It must be said that never before has a preliminary rehearsal attracted so many people and tourists. The 7/5 Square area was packed with people. There was no space left around the stage to walk... And when the music started, all the people and tourists were overwhelmed by the magnificent, attractive and colorful art program. In particular, the artistic light performance using drones to combine images of the Fatherland and typical images of Dien Bien was extremely unique and was the highlight that attracted the audience. This was the first time Dien Bien audiences witnessed the uniqueness and splendor of an artistic light performance. Many people expressed their excitement and surprise at the performance images created from light and the art program with the meticulousness of each participating actor. The uniqueness and appeal of the rehearsal performances make locals and tourists look forward to the opening moment even more...

To have such an impressive rehearsal, since the beginning of March, professional and non-professional actors have been actively practicing twice a day at 7/5 Square, despite the harsh weather of the far West. Among them, more than 400 non-professional actors from the Pedagogical College, the armed forces of Regiment 82 and children have been actively practicing for the art program. The actors are divided into small groups to practice, then match the program on stage within the past week. Student Bui Phuong Thao from the Pedagogical College shared: “The performances in the program require great effort, the movements are very meaningful, we need to try very hard. Therefore, for many days now, we have been trying to practice, regardless of time or hot weather. At this point, I am basically ready to contribute to the success of the program…”.

With the theme “Returning to the Ban Flower Land”, the art program leads the audience to the story of tangible and intangible cultural values ​​and unique tourism products of Vietnam and Dien Bien; spreading the message to friends, domestic and international tourists about the history, culture, tourism of Vietnam and the land and people of Dien Bien - Northwest. The program is staged with high artistic quality, relatively urgent practice time, requiring great efforts and attempts of the team of directors, choreographers, actors, artists, contributing to bringing the festival a unique and successful art program.

People's Artist Nguyen Minh Thong, the program's general director, shared: "The closer we get to the opening day, the more intense the rehearsal time must be. Because the layers and links this time are very difficult, more difficult than the previous times, we use laser technology and LED screens to create an overall effect on the actors and on every detail. This year is the national tourism year, so the investment in brainpower, funding, and resources is much greater than in previous years...".

As the National Tourism Year is nationwide, not just the annual Ban flower festival of Dien Bien, from the art program to the stage this year, everything has changed, completely renewed compared to previous years. Accordingly, the stage has been relocated to the lower part of the square, facing Vo Nguyen Giap Street. While the overall stage has a large shape - symbolizing the Dien Bien Phu basin, symbolizing the 5-petal Ban flower, the pistil is circular, is the main performance stage, 20m in diameter, 70cm high; at the 5 bottoms of the petals, there are small stages for supporting performances and a bridge connecting to the main round stage floor. The middle petal at the bottom has the largest stage, creating an eye-catching module for viewers.

This year, the grandstand area has also been improved with the aim of creating the most favorable conditions for people and visitors to directly enjoy the entire art program. Therefore, the grandstand area for delegates is placed on a platform with a minimum height of 1m50, every 3 rows of seats are stepped higher than 40cm, giving viewers a full view when observing actors and stage performances. The long bench area (iron space frame) is the place for people and visitors to attend the opening ceremony, connected behind the delegate area, with a capacity of about 4,000 people... The high-end Led screen system covers the entire floor of the central round stage with 2 layers of glass: Led image and tempered glass. In front of the central round stage, there is a brocade wall decoration. At the same time, there is a Led system in the middle petal at the bottom of the largest stage; in the 4 side petals, there are Leds in a circular shape like a flower to convey images supporting the main Led with unique and rich images.

With such a grand stage, the construction of the event organization company also requires meticulousness, meticulousness and a lot of time. Ms. Phung Thi Ngoc Phuong, General Director of Anh Son Group Joint Stock Company said: “To construct this stage requires meticulous patience and time. Dien Bien has many events organized, usually it only takes 5 days - 1 week to construct the items. But you can see that we have been here much longer than that. The company's brothers almost have to work day and night. Up to now, the stage has been 95% completed, the main items have been guaranteed according to the design, and the decoration continues to be completed until before the opening ceremony...".

In addition to the preliminary rehearsal of the opening program, other tasks such as ensuring security, traffic flow, power grid safety, low-altitude fireworks display, etc. have been carefully prepared by functional units. All that is left is waiting for the opening moment. Time is counting down every hour, I am confident that with the efforts and high concentration of the entire crew, the Opening Ceremony of Dien Bien National Tourism Year and the Ban Flower Festival 2024 will be successful, creating an impressive highlight of the image of Dien Bien land and people for domestic tourists and international friends.
