'Return to Monkey Island' Coming to Mobile

According to VGC , publisher Devolver Digital has announced that the point-and-click adventure game Return to Monkey Island will be released for mobile platforms on July 27. Fans of the game on Android and iOS can now access the pre-registration period that the publisher is currently open to sign up.

Return to Monkey Island was first released for PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch in September 2022. A Linux version was released a month later, before the game came to consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in November.

Return to Monkey Island is the next installment in the popular adventure game series directed by writer-director Ron Gilbert. Gilbert's game studio Terrible Toybox developed the game in collaboration with Devolver Digital and Lucasfilm Games.

Although Return to Monkey Island is technically the sixth game in the Monkey Island series, it is only the third game helmed by Gilbert and Grossman, and as such, it has been presented as a sequel to Monkey Island 2 .

The game was well received by critics, with a high score of 86-87 on review site Metacritic. A month after its release, publisher Devolver declared Return to Monkey Island the best-selling game in the series.
