Review passenger transport routes after administrative unit arrangement

According to the Vietnam Road Administration, the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels and the operation of the 2-level local government model from July 1 have led to changes in information about fixed intra-provincial and inter-provincial passenger transport routes.

To ensure synchronous, unified and accurate management of data on the online public service system, the Vietnam Road Administration recommends that construction departments review, compare and update information on inter-provincial passenger transport routes, including: province and city codes of departure and destination and new bus station codes.

For intra-provincial passenger transport routes, construction departments also need to review, compare and update new information. In addition to the routes currently managed by localities, localities need to add routes that were previously inter-provincial but have now become intra-provincial routes due to administrative unit mergers.

The Vietnam Road Administration requests that units complete the review, synthesis, update and adjustment, and send it to the Vietnam Road Administration before July 18 for synthesis and announcement of adjustments according to regulations.

Vietnam Road Administration said that along with updating the list of fixed-route passenger transport routes on the system of the Ministry of Construction and Vietnam Road Administration, in the near future, transport businesses also need to adjust the itinerary information on the trips.

According to information from the Vietnam Road Administration, before the reorganization of administrative units at all levels, the whole country had over 9,450 announced fixed inter-provincial bus routes.
