Despite having a serious illness and having to live with a breathing tube and a feeding tube, author Ngo Tan Quan still perseveres in writing to keep his promise to his teammates.
Author Ngo Tan Quan shared: “When I can no longer speak but can still write, I try to record true stories, a part of my memories of my youth under the flag of our Union, the glorious Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union .”

The 435-page book, consisting of 5 chapters, records the journey of fighting in the inner city, the years of imprisonment in Con Dao (1969 - 1974) and the entire post-war life when the author continued to work to show gratitude and build his homeland. In particular, the book has a chapter dedicated to the memories of the commando soldier, former political prisoner.
The book was completed with the cooperation of former Southern Union cadres and comrades, under the editorship of Dr. Le Hong Liem and Pham Thi Nghia. Many witnesses and comrades of the 67B Special Forces such as Dr. Le Hong Liem, Dr. Quach Thu Nguyet, Ms. Dinh Kim Hoang, Mr. Ngo Tung Chinh, etc. contributed articles, enriching the collective memory picture.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Ngo Tung Chinh, the author's younger brother, emphasized: "Despite his illness, my brother still kept his promise to his teammates and still inspired the youth."

According to Dr. Le Hong Liem, the birth of the book is the result of a collective effort, as well as the affection of comrades and teammates for a seriously wounded veteran, who is always dedicated to showing gratitude to his teammates and continues to contribute to the country through his writing.
