That was the direction of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Quang Tri Airport Construction Investment Project (SC) at the first meeting with members to discuss and resolve difficulties and problems related to the implementation of the project this morning, January 18. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung said that the investment in the Quang Tri Airport Project not only realizes the goal of "opening the sky" but also strengthens the connection with the effectively exploited transport infrastructure system and the transport system planned by the Government. Quang Tri Airport is not only a transport infrastructure, but also an important condition to attract domestic and international enterprises to invest, contributing to building a rich and beautiful Quang Tri.

In particular, the project is also the long-standing aspiration of the people of Quang Tri with the desire to shorten the North-South journey, creating the most favorable conditions for local people and families with relatives and comrades who fought and sacrificed on the Quang Tri battlefield, and international friends to come to the land and people of Quang Tri more conveniently, quickly and easily.

Over the past two years, Quang Tri province and related units have made great efforts to propose investment policies, complete the project's pre-feasibility study report and other related contents.

On the investor side, they have fully prepared specific plans from human resources, investment partners to facilities to prepare for the project's commencement. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Steering Committee members to be determined to complete all remaining procedures to hand over land to the investor, and start the project's construction in the first quarter of 2024.

Reporting on the implementation of the Quang Tri Airport Project, a representative of the Provincial Construction Investment Management Board said that regarding the BOT contract negotiations, the parties continued to study and complete the content to prepare for the second negotiation session.

Regarding site clearance, it is expected to complete the handover of about 100 hectares to serve the groundbreaking ceremony in the first quarter of 2024. Currently, the investor is preparing a master plan at a scale of 1/500 and preparing the work of establishing, appraising, and approving technical design documents and construction drawing design documents after signing the BOT contract.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee members focused on discussing difficulties and problems related to BOT contract negotiations, costs of mine and explosive clearance, site clearance, technical design documents, construction drawing design documents, and contractor selection for construction and installation of project items...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien requested members of the Steering Committee to continue researching and proposing solutions to avoid slowing down the project's progress.
