On March 30, in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province coordinated with the International Powerboat Federation UIM and Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company to organize the opening ceremony of the UIM F1H2O World Championship.

Party Central Committee member, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, leaders of several central ministries and branches, leaders of Binh Dinh province, thousands of local people and domestic and international tourists attended.
At the opening ceremony, the Ministry of Home Affairs officially handed over the decision to allow the establishment of the Vietnam Sports Motorboat Federation to Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company - the tournament host, Head of the Federation's establishment campaign committee.
Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said: Thi Nai Bay fully meets international standards on water surface, wind, nature, society and culture to become the venue for the UIM F1H2O World Championship. Binh Dinh Province is very proud and honored to be the first locality in Vietnam to host the tournament and have the first racing team of the host country - F1 H20 Binh Dinh - Vietnam racing team to compete.
The UIM F1H20 is the world’s premier international powerboat race, highly competitive, intensely challenging and exciting. It offers some of the most spectacular sporting action and is considered one of the most exciting and spectacular water sports in the world. Over its 39 years of operation, the Series has hosted 295 Grand Prix events in over 33 countries across five continents.
The race had 18 top racers in the world from: United Arab Emirates, China, Portugal, Finland, Norway, France and host Vietnam competing in 3 stages.

The stages will have 3 days of competition, the first day will be the Qualifying competition for the Pole, also known as the starting position, the second day is the Sprint Race and the last day is the Final Race.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the racers competed in the Sprint Race. It is expected that on March 31 , the racers will continue to compete in the main race to win positions.
