Pillar for development

The plan sets the goal that by 2030, Binh Phuoc will become an industrial province in the direction of modernity, efficiency and sustainability, an "attractive destination" of the Southeast region, with a fairly large economic scale based on the synchronous construction of technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, development of clusters and industries with the potential to create many jobs and budget revenue; improve the quality of life for people, narrow the gap between rural areas, ethnic minority areas, remote areas, border areas and urban areas...

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented the Prime Minister's decision approving the Binh Phuoc Provincial Planning and Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc presented flowers to congratulate the leaders of Binh Phuoc province.

Regarding specific targets by 2030, the average GRDP growth rate will reach over 10%. Economic structure: industry - construction accounts for about 54%; trade - services 35%; agriculture, forestry and fishery about 11%. Digital economy accounts for 30% of the economic structure. Average GRDP per capita reaches 180 million VND (equivalent to 7,500 USD). Budget revenue reaches 30,000 billion VND. Urbanization rate reaches 50%. In the period of 2021-2030, the whole province will establish 15,000 new enterprises...

By 2050, Binh Phuoc will become a modern, prosperous and civilized industrial province, becoming one of the important economic growth poles of the Southeast region, equivalent to the provinces with a fairly developed level in the country; harmonious development space between urban and rural areas; urban construction in an ecological, modern and sustainable direction. Preserving and promoting cultural and ethnic values, comprehensively developing people, a clean living environment, becoming an "attractive destination" of the Southeast region.

According to the plan, Binh Phuoc will prioritize the development of inter-regional traffic connection systems including: Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway and Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) Expressway. Develop a traffic connection system between the 3 development axes and the main roads of the province.

Binh Phuoc Provincial Planning not only specifically defines the goals and general development orientations for the province but also serves as a lever to promote the economic, cultural and social development of localities at district and commune levels.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha stated that Binh Phuoc is identified as a direction to expand the industrial development space of the region; develop border gate economy, logistics; play an important role in protecting water resources, forest ecosystems and biodiversity. Binh Phuoc province planning is a concrete step to realize Resolution No. 24 of the Politburo on regional development; with a strategic vision, organizing development space based on resource potential, strategic position, cultural values, and people. In particular, the inter-regional and trans-Asian infrastructure system will connect the economic space of Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc; the economic corridor of the Central Highlands - Southeast - Mekong Sub-region.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien said: The approved planning of Binh Phuoc province is the result of a process of effort, hard work, investment of a lot of effort, enthusiasm, and collective intelligence to form a sophisticated, methodical, scientific, and quality provincial planning product. With this planning, the province is ready for a new, sustainable development phase with many goals and aspirations, turning potential into development motivation, building Binh Phuoc into a modern, prosperous, civilized industrial province.

Determined to implement effectively

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha believes that with the historical and cultural traditions, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, dynamism, creativity and the aspiration to rise up of the Party committees, authorities, army and people of Binh Phuoc province, the companionship of the business community, as evidenced by the projects awarded investment certificates at the planning announcement ceremony, Binh Phuoc will soon realize the goal of becoming an industrial province in a modern direction, a new driving force and an "attractive destination" of the Southeast region.

As someone who has spent many years researching Binh Phuoc province, identifying its potentials, advantages, and pointing out bottlenecks and limitations that need to be overcome, Dr. Tran Du Lich, an economic expert, assessed: Binh Phuoc has formed a relatively systematic plan, forming development zones, urban systems, clearly seeing each field and each industry. That is considered a guideline for the province to carry out detailed planning. “I have carefully studied the planning documents of Binh Phuoc as well as the appendix on land allocation, development zones, organization areas, and reasonable distribution of development space. There are 3 things that Binh Phuoc needs to do: The planning is overall, must go into detail, each field, each industry. In the list of priority investment projects, resources must be concentrated to break through to priority projects. At the same time, coordinate the strong regional development linkage mechanism, discuss with Ho Chi Minh City to build a railway connecting to Loc Ninh, through Hoa Lu International Border Gate to Cambodia” - Dr. Tran Du Lich proposed.

The 3 strategic breakthroughs that the 11th National Party Congress has put forward are institutional breakthroughs; infrastructure development breakthroughs and human resource development breakthroughs. In that aspect, Binh Phuoc has the advantage of having been approved by the National Assembly and approved in principle to invest in 2 expressways passing through the area. This will contribute to opening up development space for Binh Phuoc. According to the assessment of Dr. Huynh The Du, lecturer of Public Policy at Fulbright University Vietnam, along with the assessment of transport infrastructure, Binh Phuoc must pay attention to developing social infrastructure in health care, education and improving operational efficiency, building a government that serves the people and businesses. And the implementation must be synchronous, drastic, with community and unity between the government, people and businesses, then the results will be very good.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, affirmed: Binh Phuoc has a very rich culture with many ethnic groups. Therefore, Binh Phuoc culture is diverse but highly unified. Binh Phuoc people have common characteristics of Vietnamese people but also have their own identity, which is bravery and resilience in fighting in previous historical periods. In the new era - working and building a prosperous country, these virtues need to be maintained and promoted to rise up. In addition, loyalty, kindness, openness to people from other lands coming here to live and work, including foreigners, are valuable cultural characteristics of Binh Phuoc people. Therefore, in recent years, Binh Phuoc province has attracted foreign investment very well.

Binh Phuoc is home to 41 ethnic groups living together, creating cultural diversity in community life.

Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee Ton Ngoc Hanh emphasized: Binh Phuoc will have directions to implement the planning approved by the Prime Minister. In the immediate future, the province will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people, domestic and foreign enterprises to unanimously support and effectively organize the implementation of the planning.

As a province with many advantages in agricultural development, the planning has clearly defined the regions and development spaces. “The province's orientation is to develop agriculture with an agricultural economic mindset, approaching it in the direction of industry clusters and value chains, promoting the application of science and technology in restructuring the industry. Forming concentrated agricultural production areas on a large scale, focusing on products with high economic value, especially products with competitive advantages... On that basis, the industry will focus on promoting implementation with high determination, helping Binh Phuoc farmers live a healthy life right in their homeland" - Mr. Pham Thuy Luan, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shared.

Many agricultural products of Binh Phuoc are grown and processed on a large, concentrated scale, meeting export standards to foreign markets, bringing high economic profits.

Binh Phuoc is known as the cashew capital of Vietnam. Many businesses in Binh Phuoc have participated in deep processing of cashew products that meet OCOP 4 and 5 star standards.

Excited to know that the provincial planning has been issued by the Prime Minister, Mr. Pham Dinh Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Minh Thanh Ward, Chon Thanh Town said: The planning has been awaited by the people of Minh Thanh for a long time. Especially the public investment projects in the area. Having a plan, the investment promotion work is quick, which is important in connecting Minh Thanh, Chon Thanh with neighboring localities. On the basis of the planning, it will be oriented where the residential area is, where the production area is, where what can be done. That is the desire of the people.

Mr. Trinh Dinh Su in Cha Lon hamlet, Minh Duc commune, Hon Quan district expressed: “Rubber trees play a very important role and I believe they will continue to be the main crop of Binh Phuoc province. The factors for rubber to be the main crop are that it is easy to care for and provides stable income. Although the price has dropped as low as in recent years, it still ensures the lives of rubber growers. I hope the State has a solution to keep the price stable as it is now or higher, which would be very good.”

The planning coming into life will contribute significantly to making Binh Phuoc soon become a modern industrial province, developing richly and civilized, an "attractive destination", an important economic growth pole of the Southeast region, the people of Binh Phuoc have a prosperous, happy and prosperous life.
