Recently, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee reported to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the Master Plan for the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Binh Thuan Province to 2040, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee has repeatedly held meetings to discuss, direct, urge and request all levels, sectors, units and localities to focus their intelligence and promote the maximum sense of responsibility to build the project of the highest quality. Because this is a very large project with an area spanning many areas from Phu Hai, Ham Tien, Mui Ne wards and Thien Nghiep commune of Phan Thiet city to Hong Phong, Hoa Thang communes of Bac Binh district and Phan Ri Cua town of Tuy Phong district. At the same time, there are many complex and multi-sectoral contents that need to be updated with new ideas and orientations as well as reference to related sectoral and field plans, so the process of organizing and building the content is difficult and takes longer than the prescribed schedule.

Up to now, the project has basically determined the planning orientation of the spatial development framework, functional zoning, infrastructure system connection of the entire area and met the nature, objectives, and content requirements according to the planning tasks approved by the Prime Minister. According to the content of the General Planning Project for the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area, the planning area is 14,760 hectares, including Phan Thiet City area of about 6,625 hectares, Bac Binh district area of 7,165 hectares and Tuy Phong district area of about 970 hectares... The general planning for the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area also aims to form a tourism center associated with urban development in the area with the main development driving force being tourism.
Regarding the development orientation of functional areas within the planning boundary, there are 4 sub-areas, including Phu Hai - Ham Tien Tourist Urban Area (area scale of more than 1,900 hectares) with the nature of a center for commercial services, finance, health care, resort tourism, entertainment, national sea sports, international class. Therefore, this sub-area will aim to exploit the advantages of developing urban areas associated with tourism services, sports, entertainment, finance, banking... While Mui Ne Tourist Urban Area - Nam Hong Phong Coastal Resort (area of nearly 5,300 hectares) is oriented with the nature of a center for resort tourism, entertainment, national sea sports, international class.
With the Hoa Thang Urban Center (about 6,125 hectares) with the function of protecting and promoting the value of Bau Trang scenic spot and areas with typical natural landscapes of "sand hills" and deserts in the heart of the city. This is also an area oriented to develop a new urban tourism area, focusing on developing multi-functional urban tourism complexes associated with high-class and unique tourism products, especially resorts, sports, entertainment, etc.
Phan Ri Cua coastal resort and tourism service urban area (planned area of about 1,430 ha) is a resort and tourism urban area, a new development area of Phan Ri Cua town and prioritizes the formation of resorts, health care facilities, serving long-term tourists. This place is oriented to become an economic, cultural, scientific and technical center, seafood processing and exploitation industry, services, and tourism, playing a role in promoting the socio-economic development of the northern region of Binh Thuan.
Recently, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee (term XIV) also held a meeting to give opinions on the Master Plan for the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Binh Thuan Province until 2040, with a vision to 2050. In his speech, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Duong Van An noted that the plan must aim at the strategic goal of making Mui Ne National Tourist Area a leading destination in the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, it is required to arrange the development space of Mui Ne National Tourist Area to ensure that it is airy, modern, civilized, green - clean - beautiful, attractive... Especially, it is important to prioritize public spaces for both local people and tourists, with attention paid to arranging both coastal areas and inside the planning area.
In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee directs and urges the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to coordinate with relevant departments and units to urgently supplement and complete the planning project before reporting to the Provincial People's Council for approval, then send it to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval according to regulations.
