According to initial information, at noon of the same day, the family of Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat (residing in Ha Thuong quarter, Gio Linh town) discovered a sinkhole with a diameter of about 4m appearing right in their garden. The depth of the hole is currently unknown, and the risk of further subsidence remains.
To ensure safety, the town People's Committee has directed the neighborhood to urgently notify residents, especially children, not to go near the sinkhole area. At the same time, it is recommended that neighboring households check their premises and promptly report if they discover a similar situation.
The local government also requested Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat's household to proactively evacuate people and property to a safe place, and limit people from accessing the pit area to avoid danger to people and property.
