Quang Ngai: Fishing boat was damaged, 11 fishermen were rescued in time

On the morning of June 18, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Chairman of the Fisheries Union of Binh Chau Commune (Binh Son District, Quang Ngai) - said that a fishing boat of local fishermen was damaged and sank in the waters near Ly Son Island. Fortunately, all 11 fishermen on board were rescued safely.

According to information, at around 4:00 a.m. the same day, the QNg-95039 TS boat, captained by Mr. Bui Van Trung (Binh Chau commune), was approaching the shore when it suddenly broke water and sank about 2km from Be Island (in Ly Son district). The fishermen quickly switched to rafts and contacted the mainland, about 30km from Ly Son Island, to request support.

At around 6am, a passing fishing boat discovered and rescued all 11 people safely onto the boat. At the same time, two local fishermen – Mr. Bui Cong and Mr. Bui Luc – along with 4 fishing boats and more than 10 workers set out following the location information to approach the scene. The boats are currently deploying to salvage the net and tow the distressed boat to shore.
