Ly Son island district ( Quang Ngai ) is promoting the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period; in which, priority is given to investing in developing essential infrastructure to help people facilitate transportation, production, enjoy policies and investment resources in coastal areas, and improve their lives.

The rural traffic route from An Vinh islet to To Vo gate scenic spot was upgraded and renovated by Ly Son district and put into use in December 2022.

The project has an investment of more than 3 billion VND from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025. Thanks to that, 203 poor households and 76 near-poor households in Tay An Vinh village have benefited from the project.

Ms. Dang Thi Dung (Tay An Vinh village) said that before, the road to An Vinh islet was degraded, with many potholes, making it very difficult for people to travel. Recently, the district has invested in and upgraded the road, the road surface has been paved with concrete, the pillars have been replaced, and electricity has been installed to help people travel more conveniently.

Mr. Huynh Xuan Phuong (Tay An Vinh village) shared that the upgraded An Vinh islet traffic route combined with the newly built mobile road creates convenience for tourists to visit the To Vo gate scenic spot.

In addition to rural transport projects, Ly Son district also focuses on investing in educational infrastructure, cultural institutions, especially electricity infrastructure to serve production, helping people escape poverty sustainably.

The lighting project serving production in An Hai and An Vinh fields includes 14 lines with an investment cost of 4 billion VND invested by the District's Project Management Board for Construction Investment and Land Fund Development.

The project is 4,557m long and includes a system of underground wires, cables, steel poles, and LED lights.

Mr. Pham Ai Viet (Dong An Vinh village) has 4 sao of land growing onions and garlic in the Rung field, Dong An Vinh village. According to Mr. Viet, before there was an electricity infrastructure project, people who wanted to water their onion and garlic fields had to use diesel water pumps at a high cost.

From the capital of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Ly Son district has invested in building poles and extending electricity from residential areas to production fields.

Now, people only need to buy electric wires to pull to the fields, install water pumps to irrigate the crops. The lower production costs make the people of Dong An Vinh very excited.

Implementing Project 1 on Supporting investment in socio-economic infrastructure development for poor districts, particularly disadvantaged communes in coastal and island areas (National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025), in 2022 and 2023, Ly Son district invested in building and repairing 32 infrastructure works on the island; including more than 10 projects to upgrade and renovate rural roads.

After completion and put into use, the projects have contributed to better serving the travel needs of people, especially the poor and poor households, to access basic social services according to the national multidimensional poverty standards.

Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Ly Son district, affirmed that the funding from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction has a great impact on the socio-economic development of the locality, and is a very important channel for the district to integrate with other capital sources and programs to invest in infrastructure, social security, and improve the quality of life of the people.

“During the investment process, Ly Son district pays special attention to reviewing the needs of the people and the community so that the works and projects will be most effective after being put into use. In addition, the district also strengthens propaganda and mobilizes people to actively participate in contributing resources, labor, goods, and land to build rural roads, irrigation, and solidify canals. Thereby, creating momentum for local socio-economic development, improving the level of enjoyment of the people,” emphasized the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son district./.
