Quang Nam and Hoi An awarded "Oscar of tourism industry"

On the evening of September 3, in the capital Manila, Philippines, the 31st World Travel Awards (WTA) for Asia and Oceania in 2024 took place with the participation of hundreds of continental-level tourism and travel brands and international press agencies.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCT) of Quang Nam province was honored to be named in the category "Asia's Leading Local Tourism Management Agency 2024".

This year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam is the only representative of Vietnam to be nominated and surpassed many excellent candidates in the region such as Bali (Indonesia), Sabah (Malaysia), Sarawak (Malaysia) and Luang Prabang (Laos) to achieve the title of "Asia's Leading Local Tourism Management Agency".

In the destination category, Hoi An - Quang Nam was honored to receive the title "Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination" for the 5th time at the World Travel Awards (WTA), including 4 consecutive years of winning the award (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024).

In the category for resorts and hotels, a 5-star resort in Quang Nam - Hoiana Resort & Golf was also honored as the winner of the category "Asia's Leading Complex Resort".

World Travel Awards (WTA) was established in 1993, is a prestigious award recognized worldwide and is considered the "Oscar of the tourism industry".

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, said that the prestigious awards of World Travel Awards 2024 coming to Quang Nam tourism industry are the recognition of international friends and partners around the world, continuing to be the driving force for Quang Nam tourism to exploit tourism potential in a green, sustainable direction, constantly innovating, improving the quality of products and services.
