On the afternoon of February 27, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Naval Region 5 Command held a meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025).

The Chief of Naval Region 5 Command awarded individuals in the medical sector of the Region with good achievements in their work.

At the meeting, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Long Giang, Head of Logistics - Engineering of Naval Region 5, read the letter from the Minister of National Defense to officers, employees, students, and military medical soldiers of the entire army on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors' Day; at the same time, he reviewed the 70-year history, glorious tradition, and pride of the medical sector in general, and the military medical sector of the Army in particular, in the work of protecting, caring for, and improving the health of officers, soldiers, and people.

Over the years, the medical staff of Naval Region 5 have always upheld their sense of responsibility, regularly cultivated and trained themselves; actively researched and studied to improve their professional qualifications, mastered modern medical equipment in their staff; and effectively applied information technology, scientific advances, and advanced medical achievements in diagnosis, emergency care, and treatment of patients.

In particular, during the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters or participating in search and rescue missions, emergency aid, and medical care for fishermen at sea, hundreds of officers, doctors, and military medical staff in the Region have not been afraid of difficulties, storms, and dangers, pioneering and taking the lead, wholeheartedly treating patients. These actions have left many good impressions and feelings in the hearts of the people and local Party committees and authorities.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung congratulated and praised the outstanding achievements of the military medical sector in the region in the past time. At the same time, he hoped that the team of officers, doctors, and military medical staff of the unit would continue to promote the achieved results, actively, make efforts, and strive to perform well the work of medical examination, treatment, and health care for soldiers and people in the new situation.

The Commander of Naval Region 5 reminded the officers and staff of the military medical sector to strictly comply with regulations and procedures for medical examination and treatment; maintain pure medical ethics and humane medical care; increase exchange activities, learn, share experiences, and improve professional skills; be dedicated to work and wholeheartedly serve patients; unite, join forces, and complete all assigned tasks excellently.

On this occasion, the Navy Command and the Naval Region 5 Command presented Certificates of Merit to 12 individuals in the military medical sector of the Region for their good achievements in taking care of soldiers' and people's health in the period 2020 - 2025.
